When I saw the Boss in Hartford, CT, Nils came out and played like this, but it was much more upbeat..which was fitting, because they opened with "Sherry Darling".
I really thought it was a misspelling of 'downtown train' when I first saw the title. I mean; he has played 'Jersey girl' by Tom Waits so why not that one?
I love the European fans! Actually they're better than the American fans. They are passionate, they don't walk into a show 25 minutes into the first set, they're respectful. I'd prefer to go to shows overseas than here.
Am I the only one who thinks the crowd's reaction is a bit weird? "Downbound Train" is a pretty melancholy song & it's a bit weird to hop so gleefully to...
It was the first song for the evening, the intro is a song from one of the movies based on Astrid Lindgren's characters. So of course everyone is cheering and screaming when it's the first time Springsteen is entering the stage
First of all, it's the first song of the evening, so of course we all was pretty happy that Bruce played such a great song, which is not played that often.
Second, many, and I mean many of Bruces's songs are "melancholy". What are you supposed to do? Just stand there and stare? Have you ever been to a Bruce-concert?? If you don't, then welcome to Sweden. We know how to rock a Springsteen concert!
Yes, I've seen Springsteen more than once. But I know better than to jump with joy when he plays melancholy stuff. In America, we don't do any annoying chants either... especially during the quiet verse of "Prove It All Night" at the end.
@karma123 The narrow-minded, on-going "Europeans vs Americans" pissing contest... not going to waste my time. P.S. - "Born in the USA" is not a flag-waving anthem, btw. Try not to misinterpret it.. hahahaha :-)
@MickiBSB i´v read Clarence had a car accidente and he broke his right leg. They made him a operation but it didn´t work very well, so i think this or next year he ´ll do another operation to solve his problem.

@karma123 And your point?

@KleWdSide
My point? This is the long debate about european audiences vs the american ones...
My point? were you not on the other side of the fence and you would have no such remarks to do.
My point? Let people enjoy the music the way they feel about it.
My point? Yours was not an elegant comment to post...

@KleWdSide
wow!
You just earn yourself the idiot status real quick didn´t you?
Guess what, it was not in Europe an elected president misunderstood Nebraska and and BTIUSA.
But I´m loosing my composure without a reason... did europeans start the discussion?
No brother, it was you...
and you ran out of words real quick.
Tell you what; next time you better think before you comment, because
Bruce himself has european crowds in the highest consideration...
