  • Where can I find the sheet music?

  • @lovehamsters14

Have a look in this book (with cd):

    Hal Leonard

    Jazz play along

    Sonny Rollins

    volume 33

    ISBN 0-634-07988-3

    Have fun!

  • Get rid of that fast vibrato and you'll sound MUCH better.

  • Those who can't play by ear are nothing to me!

  • @helluvagun

Really - by them notes and by them ears!

  • hey, it sounds really good. can you please send me the plaalong via email? thanks so much,

  • Very nice playing. Could you send me sheet music to this - It is wonderful piece to play

  • it's different, but not bad, not bad at all, I like it, but maybe the middle part is a little to aggressive .

  • Just out of curiousity, how old are you and how long have you been playing?

  • You´ll get an e-mail, amigo.

  • u playing it wrong

  • hey, if u have the sheet music, could u please send it to me? wanna learn this song.

  • u do no ur playing it in the wrong don't u

  • You have a great tone aside from the quivering; get rid of that and you're good to go. Taking formal lessons would help you a lot with developing vibrato, but if you still want to go it alone, books like The Art of Saxophone Playing (by Larry Teal) have great descriptions of how to achieve correct vibrato. One thing you want to do is practice it slowly and with a metronome at first (48bpm-ish).

  • Thank you for your information. There have been some other users, who critized my quivering tone. I'm trying to get better all the time. I'll give you an example quiet soon ...

  • yea stop the quivering, get a new mouthpiece too

  • Thank you all for your postings!

  • You sound great, "Late"! Wonderful rasp I'm hoping to learn. Best to ya!

  • I GOT THAT BOOK TOO!!!!!!!!!!! But I'm playing it on Alto sax though....

  • hi boomer .....check on youtube " vibrato lesson"....4th or 5th vid in column....fellow named mcveigh....this is an excellent lesson !

  • lateboomer-your basic "sound" isn't bad ...there's something good in it...and i hear little "ideas"trying to germinate...BUT...that damn "shiver" must go ! become a sincere student of vibrato and study it with intelligence...listen to dex or desmond....widen it and make it smooth and NATURAL...maybe drop it totally for awhile until u feel u understand vibrato better.your tune choices are good...YOU could be good. make vibrato a natural ,almost un-noticed thing the listener FEELS more than hears.

  • Thank you nedmanxxx for your informations. I guess I will try to stopp doing vibrato for a while and then try it again. The problem is, that I can't move the lips as far as it should be to get a vibrato. Maybe the vibrato-problem exists, because I prefer a honking sound and the combination between honking and vibrato is just to much ...

  • that quaver in your tone isn't what could be called a vibrato...it's a quivver...lose it man

  • Thank you for you comments.
