When I first saw the freeze-frame on Tuco, with "THE UGLY / IL BRUTTO" title card, my first thought was, "So THAT'S where Quentin Tarantino got the title-card gag from!"
Watching this scene in 1.33:1 does it no justice whatsoever. Well I have the blu ray I cant complain but you all have to experience this in 2.35:1 to REALLY appreciate
When I first watched the film back in the day I thought Tuco was really a mexican actor but man was I surprised to find out the truth. Eli Wallach You are the man!
@gkmaster25 you would be surprised of the apearance of alot of Mexicans,,,some of the old mexican bandidos had red hair,,and yes they where white,,they just speaked spanish and where born in Mexico...so it would not surprise me if there was a tuco back in the day,,or a blondie..

Yeah, I was surprised to learn that the actor who plays Tuco, Eli Wallach, is actually Jewish. He's a great actor. :)

Al Mulock is also one of three guys in the intro to Once Upon a Time in the West.

He takes the giant drumstick looking hunk of meat with him - hilarious - so Tuco esque! Eli Wallach really made this film!

I love how it begins with a wide shot, but then it turns into a close-up without a cut.
