  • I drive a enfield Robin Diesel ....

  • @bimmer57 Hi, I have ordered a diesel Enfield with a 418 cc Yanmar clone. I have still to decide on the appropriate gearing. I have ridden the Robin many years ago, & it was great fun. But I felt the 20T final drive gearbox sprocket (giving 65 mph @ 3600) was too tall for the engine to pull. I was thinking of going with the 17T (55 mph) or even the 16T (52 mph @ 3600) which is the same as the petrol 350, as their respective torque outputs are very close. What's your experience advice please?

Hello ! I dont know how many HP its in the Yanmar

-But my bike has a fuji Robin engine (9.5 hp)

-and i have put a 21 T sprocket on it and i think it gave the bike , calm and nice driving qualitys !!

  • @bimmer57 Hello! A 21T sprocket is incredible for such a modest engine! That is 68 mph @ 3600 by gps. How many mph / km/hr can the engine pull on the level? My bike is also 418cc & 9.8 bhp.

Seeing your bike has inspired me to order the 20T!

Sounds as if you have the standard box ratios, not the close ratio gears? I can hear the big drop in revs from 3rd to 4th. Please post more videos. Kind regards. John.

  • @hiyadroogs

    well around 80 -90 km/hr

so i think that 20 T could work for you !

i have standard Enfield 350 box ½½

  • co to za motor?
