  • Can I try hydrocortisone 10 cream on scars and stretch marks??? I live in Miami and would love for you to be my dermatologist..I will give your office a ring.. =)

  • Great tip!!! I have been doing it for years and it really does work.

  • Does anyone know the name of the skin condition that causes many Blacks to have light spots on their skin? NBA player Marcus Camby seems to have this skin condition.

  • if I use hydrocortison....I have to use sunscreen????

  • Aloe-vera juice is great as well. Beautiful skin starts with what we put in our bodies.

  • Just put some food stamps and chicken wings on it!

  • good im half black and half white

  • wow. that was excellent info. thank you. yep

  • I am a Pharmacist and I will tell you guys that if you use hydroquinone on your skin it is possible that after you stop using the product, your melanin cells that were suppressed, may go haywire and start causing more pigmentation, making the area darker and you'll have to double up on your sunscreen. So wash the area with cool/cold water, use sunscreen on the area if it isn't an open wound and keep the area shaded and use vitamin E either orally or on the area it is a great antioxidant.

  • @Teijibana i've found that this seems to be the case when the person is a little zealous with the hyperpig regimen, it doesn't cause them to darken beyond their natural skin tone, it may seem like it's gone haywire because they've become accustomed to having a fairer complexion. my advice only spot treat! if you want to have a glowing look i advise a vitamin c serum twice a along with any facial sunscreen under Anthelios by La Roche Posey

  • Um, they aren't "African-American", they're Black. If I was White and born in Africa I am still not African-American. I would be *Nation of Birth*-*Nation of Citizenship/Residency* (Congo-American, Egyptian-Mongolian), but ONLY if I received citizenship or permanent residency (Depending on the laws of said country). If I was born in Ireland, and received citizenship in Mexico, I am not "European-Mexican", I am Irish-Mexican. Also, not all Blacks have origin in African countries.

  • @emokid3030 I know right but that's the way society has put it, I deal with it when I travel and I am mix black Indian and Portuguese.. and I get called african american and I was also born in the caribbean haha this world

  • @emokid3030 I am African-American;the African is my ancestry, & the American is my nationality. My ancestors came from Africa via the slave-trade. Since my ancestors could have come from many African nations & records weren't kept 2 distinguish which country (or countries), the continent of Africa will have 2 suffice. Since the European colonization of Africa, the original tribal territory lines have been destroyed;so what existed long ago is now gone. & all Blacks have descended from Africa.

  • Thanks for the advice. I've had some issues with scarring. (Never heard the phrase "staining"though...)

  • @ohhmyynyaa

Perhaps when people think of STAINS they know stains can be removed. SCARS last forever. So I guess as a dermotologist they have been conditioned to call them stains so that they can sell products to make them disappear. Interesting

  • @WonderWomanFan4life Ahh, that makes sense. :) I guess I've stains then. Haha.

  • @ohhmyynyaa

LOL me too. i scratched my foot on something and have a STAIN.. trying to get that stain out.. If only I could Shout it out.. Like on the commercial

  • Thier are black Professionals who study dermitology. It just seems more reliable when. My own people of color gives me advice about my skin. Melanin has many special qualities one of which our color

  • she went to school and got tip dumbass

  • I have dermatomyositis and although I am currently getting better with my autoimmune disease I am left with this as you said stain on my eyes from inflammation from a Helitrope rash as a result of my illness. Is there anything I can do about this...I always look tired and sick even when I'm not.

  • Dont want to be ignorant in any way. But i find it kind of crazy she bein white and all. Telling black people how to take care of there skin. BUt hey! I guess I should just leave it to the professionals.

  • yeah but that would be like saying all Ob-Gyn doctors have to be female, Just because they are male doctors it does not meant that they dont study and cant give advice to women patients just because they are male.

  • Didnt mean to offend, mama. lol. Was just saying how ironic it was. just makin a statement. I did say she was a professional, and wasn't downcasting her PHD, just making a comment. lol

  • understand what you are saying but, we think too much about different skin colors and ethnicity. if you honestly think about what you just said/wrote it don't make since because black is just a color and what they call race. that's just like saying o well because i'm black i shouldn't know that red and yellow makes purple. ya dig i could get a lil deeper but most ppl in this world ain't ready for what i know -lol- just wanted to point that out pls don't get offended

  • and before anyone makes a statement about my red and yellow theory i already know just making a point-lol-

  • it isn't ignorant. i am one of those people who wants someone with skin like me to help me with my skin. they would understand and most likely have had the same experiences.

  • lol
