  • HAHAHA "Part of Tim Stimulus Package... how 'bout the Tranny... " LOL

  • Best ever! More! Standing ovation.

  • Hilarious! Would love to see more episodes.

  • I love words. We need more episodes.

  • This is better than Mr. Deity! You guys are great!

  • Lucky guy. Amy is so pretty

  • I just watched this episode for the first time and my first thought was also: Larry David could've written this! Big big kudos to Brian. I want full-length episodes of Mr.Deity and Words! If I had the money and connections this would be up on prime-time instantly, with NO interfering, let Brian do what he does best, make people laugh. Hat's off mister.

  • Knock on Tim.

  • I feel like I'm watching Larry David at his best. Just as cringe-worthy, just as funny.

  • @neoprenewedgie Oh, way funnier. better writing too.

  • Is Amy's habit of emailing going to become important later?

  • @ianmathwiz7 It's a thread which will be paid off in a later episode if we can ever get back to it. B

  • I think one of the reasons these are so funny, is that the political incorrectness is off the charts.

Another reason is that there are so many people out there with insane opinions and ideas, that Poe's Law appears everywhere, and this plays on that- we know it's fake and can relax and have a laugh at insane ideas that we know are fake, instead of cringing and praying (y' know what I mean) that the person stating them is pulling our leg.

All the videos are works of art. Thanks.

  • Somewhere out there. A millionaire bought a pool. When he/she could have financed this genius. I hope they are happy ...

  • Brilliant! Love it... keep up the good work!

  • the strangling bit at the end was funny, well done

  • I have to say, I love Mr. Deity. I actually like Words more. Mr. Deity is original, intelligent, and visually elegant. Words is... could be... is the new Seinfeld perhaps? It's absolutely spot on entertainment. It's light, but there is a depth and pessimism that is usually only found in the best Britcoms. American television needs this show. The network that picks it up will make a shit load.

  • ":o You did a bit!?"

  • "A lot of people wanted to see him dead, that's my theory."

    Holy freaking AWESOME!

  • so funny! Love all your stuff.

  • Mouse hovering over 4 stars - "Three strikes for him" - whoops, that'll be 5 then!

  • Viewing this from the UK. Keep it up you are going places with this.

  • lol. ok. You are NOT allowed to my viewing. lol. That's just....wrong!

  • This show is sooo awesome!! *knock on Tim*

  • This is so much funnier than 95% of shows on television.

  • SEE this is why funerals are so lame and pointless! The "tranny" always ends up coming up at these things!!!!

  • amy/lucy is FINE!

  • hahaha i see dead people. i need a pop tart.

  • This show needs more veiws! its great

  • I know, huh?

  • ok so if you fly me out and show me how you make such great videos I will bring my camera and help shoot for you for free just a thought think about then say no and then email saying yes and let freak out and then email me and say no and let me cry and i will flim that and sent it to you.

  • The wife was awesome.

  • OMG!!! SO funny!!

  • few things...

-didn't know you actually post these on youtube youself and go back and forth with the comments, and God bless you for that (insert reference joke here)

-it said on one of your announcements (haven't seen them all, forgive me if my info's wrong) that you're making it a fictional-ish life behind the scenes deal, but trying to make everything look as real as possible. So take ep. 3, you brushing your teeth in there or something?

  • you pulled off another one. as if Mr D wasn't brilliant enough, Love the new series. Lets hope Showtime picks you up. the do have bullshit, and Penn does work for Lucy........just saying.

  • It's refreshing to see "realistic" dialogue, what with the stuttering and miswording. What I see in too many productions are lines that are too clean that give away the fact they've been rehearsed, which takes away some of the illusion.

  • i'm sorry, but... i mean it's funny and everything, but... is there a difference between this, and Curb Your Enthusiasm? I noticed similarities in style of comedy when watching Mr. Deity, but that was an original idea... this is just... C.Y.E. in smaller doses, isn't it?

  • This is such a nice compliment. Thank you so much. I plead guilty on all counts. But CYE is one of the best-written, best-performed shows on television --- EVER (in my humble opinion). To be compared with such an amazing show is truly humbling. And to think that we're doing it on our own, without the talented writers and budget CYE has! I think that's pretty impressive, no?

I don't know about you, but I can never get enough of that kind of quality comedy -- even in small doses. Thanks again.

  • first - huge relief that you didnt take it personally (some of your fans did). my intent wasn't to put down Words, i think the show is great. & I don't think you should be humbled - I think you guys are VERY tallented, and could easily compete with them, even without their budget. I guess my only question, still, is - what's the point of doing something so similar to what's already out? Why not (for example) write all that dialog around an original idea? Not giving advice, just wondering. TY.

  • Well, you're clearly not familiar with how Hollywood works. They don't want original. They want something like that thing that's already succeeding (see: Twilight/Vampires). One of the reasons we can't get Deity moving like we want is that it's too original -- too outside the box. What we wanted to do with Words was show that we can do more than Deity, and that we can work in a medium other than God/religion. We wanted to show that we can take the mundane and everyday, and make it entertaining.

  • Whatever happens don't stop Mr Deity or you'll go straight to hell. No really, especially if (did I say if, wtf I meant when) you make it to the top you owe it to humanity to continue with Mr Deity. Thank god (just can't get around to using the cap G) I can rely on my archived podcasts to show my grandchildren when I have them.

  • You deserve every word of that comment. I could not help noticing the similar kind of humour and your very Larry David-esque take on society. Are you sponsored by Lazy Eye productions?

  • Everyone is different except Mister Diety.

    I'll give you that.

but it's not that great, sorry dude.

  • I see dead people....I need a pop tart...

Dam! I want the 6th sense now! Yummm Pop tarts

  • This is so brilliant!

  • This stuff is nothing shor of incredible! I'm crying right now from laughing so hard. "So, we're back in, and the good news is, I believe that was his third strike." - Absolutely Brilliant! Where is HBO? Showtime? This is as high-caliber as Weeds or Curb Your Enthusiasm. I can't believe this hasn't been picked up by a major (Cable) network yet!

  • Me either!!!!

  • HBO already has a show exactly like Curb Your Enthusiasm... it's called Curb Your Enthusiasm... why does HBO need another show exactly like Curb Your Enthusiasm? Other than that, I agree - it's pretty funny.

  • Well, let me first express my profound relief that you agree that it's funny. You know how much your approval means to me... Oh, BTW, I see from your profile that I'm not the first person to benefit from your ass-tute input. Thanks for the lesson on network programming, D-bag.

  • ok, i guess if you want to go the ad hominem route, we can... but you're saying more about yourself than about me there...

  • The knock on wood part is absolutely priceless!

  • Amazing stuff, this show is funnier than most shows on t.v.

If you like this show you should donate, it is the only way to make sure that mr. deity keeps em' coming.

Thanks for the series Mr. Deity, see you in Burbank at the AAI convention.

  • I signed-up for the monthly donation, and since the first payment I've become stronger, more intelligent, and I was promoted at work. I suspect I may also be immortal, so it's well worth it!

  • All of those things come with a Mr. Deity/Words subscription. People are finally finding. Thanks for your report.

  • I don't see how the budget is a problem at all. All the humour in these comes from the dialogue. As long as you can afford a decent camera and a room to shoot in, you don't need anything else. Acting out these scenes instead of describing them would be LESS funny. The way you explain things, or evade explaining them, is where a lot of the humour comes from.

I hope this isn't sacrilege to say so, but you seem to have a pretty crappy life for a supreme being.

  • Budget is a problem because I have to make a living, as I'm sure you do. If writing, acting, directing, producing, lighting, shooting, editing, mixing, composing for, and compressing these shows is eating up all my time (and it is), then that becomes a problem because I like to eat and have shelter -- that kind of thing.

  • so glad i discovered this !!

  • I love this and the Mr. Deity series. I'm especially loving the social ineptitude of the character played by Brian, reminds me a lot of me, except he's funny. I could definitely see myself knocking on a dead man when I try to "knock on wood" at a funeral, and then trying to joke about it afterwords, though I'd fail miserably because I'm horrible with jokes, not just because it's a funeral.

I have to agree with others, the lack of a budget adds to the fun, like it did with MST3k.

  • Absolutely hilarious.

  • Can't stop laughing!!!

  • awesome.....new fan right here....

  • we have plenty of foods and drinks at Vietnamese funeral.

  • I am a huge fan. I love this humor. Reminds me of Curb.

  • I'd love to see this show make it to TV or something.

That would be awesome and I'd watch it.

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! ★★★★★

  • This episode was hilarious!

Although, the dog was just a distraction and having brian explain what happened instead of seeing it feels a bit like being told what was on tv by a friend (yes, I know that you have no budget).

But anyway, as somebody else said, this is better than 99% of TV and together with somegreybloke and mr.deity this is the best thing on youtube.

    P.S.: I'd like to pre-order a mr.deity DVD! How to do that?

P.P.S: Can anyone recommend something on youtube that is this good?

  • Thanks so much. Yes, if we had a budget, that would definitely be the way to go. But the show IS called "Words" so... We're still trying to figure out what we can do with the Mr. Deity DVD. Communication with Sony is slow. I'll let everyone know when I know one way or the other. If nothing else, there will definitely be a season three DVD (20 episodes w/commentary). P.S.: The dog was there only because we could figure any other way to keep her quiet. Sorry.

  • omg brilliant

  • Wonderful stuff. Love it.

  • Great to see new work from you guys but when will it be on itunes Australia! There is something truly freeing about being able to download something as funny as Mr Deity or Words onto your ipod, watch it on your morning commute, not be able to stop yourself from laughing uncontrollably, notice the stares as a result of everyone thinking you are slightly insane, but knowing the joke's on them because you are just appreciating brillianceplease dont rob me of that.

  • If we load it on iTunes America, does that flow through to you? Can you get Mr. Deity on iTunes?

  • We can get Mr Deity, in fact it has been quite a popular download in Australia. No 'Words' yet though. I think it is an option for you guys to choose whether stuff goes on the American site only or on other countries' sites as well. I do know of things that are on the US itunes that we cannot get here. Sometimes it is a delayed release sometimes we don't get it at all. If you do what you did with Mr Deity we should get it.

  • Spoke way too soon...'Words' IS available and i am one happy customer. Who knows what happened. I am blaming time zones, although we are around 17hours ahead of you so arguably it would be available almost a day before you even uploaded it ;)

  • Like people are saying, it's got a Larry David vibe. The only difference is that Amy, Brian, et al can act.

  • Really good to see you back Mr.Diety! I can't wait for the new episodes of Words and Mr.Deity. I am really looking forward to seeing Jesse again!

  • when is jesse going to be in?

  • Love the new series already, you are too freaking funny!

  • I keep seeing Larry David and Cheryl Hines in this episode.

  • They wanted to do it, but we could never find a time where our schedules made that possible.

  • What is Amy reading?

  • She's reading "The Exorcist." A little "Deity" reference.

  • Glad to see you are back!

This new series, in contrast to Deity, kind of gives me the creeps, but it's riveting nonetheless (or for that reason...).

    BTW, "Okay" is beautifully crafted.

Looking forward to the coming episodes.

  • Yes! The Jesus guy is coming back! I <3 him!

  • "-It's like one of those cattle cars going to Auschwitz-"

Love it. Love Mr. Deity. Keep it up.

  • Brian, love the new show. I am a big fan of Mr. Deity and look forward to new episodes.

  • Loved it!

  • "You did a bit" Hilarious. Great ideas, excellent acting. I love it.

  • The writing is inspired and inspiring. Good job.

  • lovely new series - can't wait for episode 4!

also, any chance seeing Mr Deity season 3 anytime soon?

  • Yes. We will have a whole bunch of news very shortly. Stay Tubed!

  • Ah, awesome! I thought Mr. Deity was dead. The new show is great, too, though--keep up the good work! I enjoy them both!

  • Thank goodness. I like the new series but I was so hooked on Mr. Deity. I've been getting my friends into it too and now we all want more.

  • dark dark

    evil evil

    good good

    more more!

  • This series is a really pleasant surprise, and proves that Mr. Deity was no flash in the pan. At some point you guys are going to start making good money doing this. You deserve it.

  • Thank you so much. This is such a nice comment. And, from your fingers to Mr. Deity's ears!

  • Brilliant and hysterical per usual.

    Their relationship is hilarious.

    Great work!

  • 'you would've never have known it wasn't his real hair' Ahh! his whole description is hi-ler-i-ous! XD

  • great one.

  • "never looked better-he should have done this 10 years ago....."classic-wonderful show!

  • meh

  • This made my entire week.

  • This ep was awesome. I'm liking this more and more =)

  • great show

  • brilliant! superb writing - best series on the net, give these guys a big HBOTV budget!

  • Even if the show doesn't blow up and become a big hit, please continue producing these. There is far too much talent here to waste. :)

  • Pretty good, but episode 2 was just spot on.

  • It just keeps getting better. The way you slip in the dark humour like nothing is flawless. Cattle car to Auschwitz... classic!

  • lol another great episode. You're quite a good actor.

  • These just get better and better!

The writing and acting are so awesome.

But for some strange reason I keep expecting to hear crackling noises when Lucy, er, Amy is on screen with a red background. :)

  • i absolutely love it. keep 'em comin!

  • Do I hear echos of Woody Allen interwoven in this?

  • I don't know how you couldn't. Since the age of 14, I have been a huge Woody Allen fan. B

  • Great as usual.

  • This is better than 99% of TV

  • I love it when I see one of these in my "woop woop, new things to watch" window, or whatever it's called.

You guys give me the good smile. :)

  • "I have a new policy, I'm going to listen to you" you are too much!

  • Another classic!

(Except for that angle. But you know that already. Live and learn)

Here's wishing you all the success you deserve.

Great. Now I'm dispensing hallmark platitudes. If you need me I'll be working a fresh indentation into the corner using only my head.

  • This should be on Comedy Central.

  • "it's like a cattle car going to Auschwitz" - oh my good frikken god!

  • Knock on corpse. :-)

  • Oops, hehe. I posted that last comment before I saw the very end. Jesus is back! ^_^

It's good to see you all together. You guys rock!

  • Yay! A new episode.

So will the guy who played Jesse/Jesus be making an appearance?

  • 3 strikes...too funny.

I wish you guys would bring back Mr. Deity though

  • Yea! More Episodes of Words. These are great.

  • Omg! An episode of "words"!

    Are you making these again?
