  • Training for weeks?! months and months and months....

  • corporate barron is now my I.T teacher at school :)

  • cant wait to join:)

  • It's so good to see people getting along on here! I'm 18, I've passed me Maths English and Science test with 100%, I've completed the interview stage and completed my medical. Ive completed a look at life course shown in this video. I just want to say to anyone in The Royal Marines process.. The best of luck!

  • PRMC has changed so much since this was made. I think is some way its a lot harder.

  • @lukus69 from what ive heard it is :)

  • The course looks like it would be fun :)

  • Check my page out if ur training for the Marines, as I am too and im making a log of my training online!

  • I love Matt

  • Haha peters pool 5 second dunk is horrible!, passed PRMC 29th july :P

  • @Jenkluke09 can you contact me im looking to take the prmc and need to know the critera to pass if you get time mate

  • Twat :D 5:29

  • PARA's are harder to get into 1.5 mile under 9.18 10 pull ups 55 press ups 55 sit ups, and P compnay is harder than the Commando course!

  • @THEPARA2BE But you won't be doing a 1.5 mile warm up run and you will be doing beefer under arm pull ups as well. You sound like you speak from experience (probably playing call of duty online!)

  • @THEPARA2BE Nobber

  • did my prmc got pt superior passed on first day. pratice what you going do the 3 mile run . push up test sit ups test pull up test reverse arm grip . then make sure pratice bleep test on rm website 2 download . second day is endurance course just dont quit . and a thrashing in morn . a way to get super fit before is hill sprints sprint up short step hill walk down then repeat alot good luck

  • @supersam7980 hey mate can u tell me how many push ups sit ups and what time on the runs i need thanks im in the army and joining the marines asap

  • @royalmarine1011 for the PRMC you should aim for 60 pressups in 2 minuets, 80 sit ups and 6 pull ups.

you should also be able to run 1.5 miles in around 10 minuets

  • @mr0phoenix youve gotta get under 10 minutes now

  • haha there marching, cant say mine was any bettern though

  • Got my PRMC next week! Can't wait!

  • I actually watched this Blue Peter special

  • @OldEnglishWarrior Do as your told, and dig out, and you'll be fine.

  • @OldEnglishWarrior It's really not as bad as everyone makes out, you'll hear all of these horror stories about it but in my opinion the worst part about it is the cold. Getting your head under in Peters Pool is horrible haha

  • @ 0.40 its the gateway to hell mwahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • @OldEnglishWarrior

Im expecting my medical in february as well, done my eyesight test on monday.

  • Not trolling . I am determined to do this. Like it says 99% need LADIES KNICKERS!! not apply. Just because I have tueretts syndrome I never let it hold me back .

  • PRMC 9 days, bring it on!!!

  • Are the royal marines really that supportive?

  • @19ashton94 Yes. They're human beings too they're not monsters. Real life isn't like the films where they degrade everyone and make them feel like shit, granted they aren't going to be nurture you through everything, but rather push you mentally and give you the strength and support you need to succeed.

  • Happy to say ive passed my PRMC on 21st sept, and start basic trainning on the 3rd of jan. Since this Prmc they have made it alot harder i got a good hour and half beasting before my assult course because my group were being retards and kept mucking up which isnt what you want to do ... i found the assult course a good warmdown as its not that hard at all.. Now the edurance course this is horriable lol.

  • I am joining next year , but I am not going to let those instructors shout at me . That is just plain rude.

  • @ilikezappa well... You aint got much choice about it mate... they WILL shout at you... and you WILL take it.... otherwise.... your life will be hell, and you won't pass at the end of it!

  • @thetrueben I am going to join as a sergeant , so I dont have to do anything. It shouldn`t be too bad .

  • @ilikezappa not sure quite what you've been told about the marines mate, but officer training's longer and harder than that of a standard recruit. It's not like with the army where it's all the same but a bit cushier, in the RM, you lead by example! With that mentality, you're gnna need a hell of a lot of luck to pass out mate!

  • @thetrueben Damn , I was hoping that I could just say I went to public school , and avoid boot camp. It all sounds a bit shouty. I dont like berets anyway , they dont suit my face, or being shouted at by people with horrid Northern accents.

Sounds like I had better join the SAS . That sounds cool , you get to kill terrorists. I cant wait to "Double tap" one of those fucking student protestors.

  • @ilikezappa Good Luck Not Letting Them Shout At You.. Ha!

  • @TheSherlock96 Is weed against the rules? Not when you`re on duty obviously , but in your lunch hour or when you go home for the evening ? I dont want to let my mates down , we are going to be a team , but I need to understand the rules. I quite like a spliff or two .

  • @ilikezappa You MUST be trolling mate! Go home for the evening? You don't go home for the evening! lol. Once you've completed your training, you'll be sent out on operations which can last about 10 months long! That's almost a year you won't be going home... and even through all of this, they can random drug test you at any point in your career... if it comes back positive for ANYTHING, they kick you out immediately. If you are trolling, well played... if not, I suggest finding a new career!

  • @ilikezappa no tolerance policy...

  • @johnfox3 Ok no weed then , apart from in the summer holidays. That seems a bit harsh tho .

  • naaw he looks like a boy when he stands to attention at the start of the circuit training :P

  • what time do you have to get up each day during the actual 32 weeks training?

  • prmc has changed now, instead of gym test 2, you gotta do the death slide, high obstacle course and the endurance course (commando test) without all the webbing and gun though!

  • And this is when Blue Peter was great!

  • Holy shiiiiiiit.

  • he gave it 100 per cent - and that's all they want

  • @partyhat3

no they don't they want 110%

  • so nice...the'yre not so nice in real life - but that's how it has to be!

  • I hear they've made the PRMC harder recently

  • Prmc 21/09 .. looking forward to it, currently doing 60+ press ups, 75-80 sit ups and 5-6 pull ups after a mile and half run, very up for it!

  • @conthegreat1 Hopefully ill be like that in a couple of months time so im ready.

  • its 3 days m8t

  • im at the pjft now starting hill running get staminer up hope get in

  • lol at the gate voalt bit haha

  • Passed my PRMC today :) Only 27 out of 54 passed it. From what some of the guys who had taken PRMC's before were saying, they have really increased the intensity of the PRMCs. Probably because the Marines are nearing full capacity.

  • @Vexx560 I dont know about that im joinin it 2 years will they be full?

  • "you`ve not got time to breathe" lol

  • come on mat i got 10 something in the bleep test and i was 14

  • there was really no better name than the blue peter?

  • Im getting ready to do my potential officer scolarship this month. Meant to be tougher than the PRMC

  • @Whycantdogscothermen - officers r just for the ego mate. there no fitter then the general marines but just want more responsibility

  • @samtyler1988 Officers are no fitter?!?! Mate you have no idea haha

  • @dammo1993 - shh. i do have an idea. so less of the cockiness. i just ran 7 mile in 50 minutes with a navy gunner this evenin for my prmc in september. general dutie marines cud all go for the officer role if they wanted to. as an officer u have to have exeptional leadership skills..a big mouth and hold alot more responsibilty on ur shoulders. that dusnt mean a royal marine cudnt pass the officer tests. cause they fuckin could.

  • @samtyler1988 What your saying is that RM applicants and Officer ones have to be at the same fitness level? Well they don't Officers have to be fitter and stronger not to mention anything else. You haven't even passed PRMC yet you don't know anything mate. Marine pass out say the 30 miler is the hardest thing they have done so you go and tell them they could do it an hour quicker, whilst navagating thereselfs. You have no chance of passing POC with that run time either, maybe PRMC if you train.

  • @dammo1993 - alot fitter and stronger? lol. no mate. SLIGHTLY FITTER. nothing a royal marine couldnt handle if they wanted the officer role. 30 miles in 8 hours n ur sayin the strength n mind set of a royal marine wudnt do it in 7? u no nothin about the ethic if u think a recruit cudnt take anhour off the 30 miler. i train 6 times a week and will get a superior at prmc mate. as if 7 miles in 50 minutes wudnt be good enuf 4 an officer lol. u no nothin mate, ur a joke. u dont have to be superman

  • @samtyler1988 i can do 8 miles in 56 minutes and i got a pass? i done 55 press ups 90 sit ups and got 6 pull ups and 12.5 on bleep test and your telling me your get a A? come on people tell this nutter that officers have to! and are fitter than an avarage marine. they have to be they cant be in Afgan and an officer says ' boys i cant go on wait 5 minutes' !?! they lead by example thats why they have to be one up. i bet there is marines that would do the 30 miler in 7 hours but thats not the poin

  • @dammo1993 - what? officers r fitter i agree.there fitness assessments r tweaked a little but not massive. the officer role suits a certain type of individual. but that doesnt mean a royal marine and the state of mind or a royal marine cudnt acheive the officer scores. i got 67 pressups on my last rmad day. i have the qualities of an officer. i just wanna be part of the lads instead.

  • @dammo1993 - 8 miles in 56 minutes is what ur runnin. im probly 8 hours in an hour. n ive got 7 weeks till prmc.

  • @samtyler1988 Officers are no fitter ?!?? Pfffft

  • @dammo1993 - some marines dont want that responsibilty of leadin a troop. they just wanna be in the troop. the tests are only tweaked slightly. nothin a normal royal marine cudnt handle. if they can do the 30 miler in 8 hours. then they wud do it in 7 if they had to. LOL. u no nothing either

  • @samtyler1988 Are you serious mate? Honestly? A royal marine officer must complete a 15 month course to earn his green beret whilst a rating only does an 8 month course. All officers are expected to complete every exercise to a better standard than a Marine. In the 30 miler yomp across Dartmoor a marine has 9 hours to complete it whilst an officer only has 7. It's not for the ego mate. Every service needs officers so everything can function. You really need to know what your talking about mate.

  • @Whycantdogscothermen 8 hours for marines

  • 32 weeks!!! not 30 ..

  • Do you still have to do a pre joining fitness test before going on the prmc? because ive not heared about it since the first day i applied.

  • anyone got prmc on the 8th june?

  • @charliebrownface alright mate i have seen you posting on PRMC forum. good luck on your prmc. Smash it mate

    Chub

  • @kayov3 nice one mate! you got your prmc dates or you done it aleady?

    charlie

  • @charliebrownface i still gotta do my PJFT looking to have my prmc september/october time. how far are you along in the process

  • @kayov3 nailed prmc last week. my adivce would be to take some bananas with you. even tho you eat epic amounts you will still need it!

  • @charliebrownface sick mate, what was the endurance course like on the PRMC? you got a date for recruit training yet? how long you been training

  • @kayov3 edurance course wasnt as bad i think. becuase you enjoy it so much you dont realise the pain really! but just stick at it and it will be over before you know it. got rt on the 28th june mate

  • @charliebrownface good luck mate, smash it

  • I got 8 something and i'm a fat bloke. lol.

  • He would pass PRMC now, the standard is alot alot more highers

  • Cant wait until I can go.

  • Need Help passing the PRMC? Learn from the author of the Royal Marines Physical Training Manual Sean Lerwill with his 'Smash The PRMC Pack'. Search for Commando Conditioning

  • finishing year 11 at the momment, want to go next year but parents wont let me so i gotta wait another 2 years... piss take

  • Nah man, everything happens for a reason innit ;) ... just take those 2 years and do PT yourself and get big/fit enough and it will only be easier for you when you do it, I'm in the same boat and waiting to finish Uni

  • @ajgYT09 yea i can see where you are coming from, but i just cant be fucked for school lol, but i know i would stand a better chance of passing out if i waited untill i was more pyhiscally devloped

  • @BritishPatriot3 its not your parents decision its yours, remember that

  • @Geraint961 In RT now mate, finally persauded them. Love it

  • @BritishPatriot3 nice one and good luck!

  • @BritishPatriot3 im also finishing year 11 soon, im going straight in, good luck for your prmc =)

  • @ozzyxyz10 Cheers mate, halfway through training mate. Good luck to you, its alot harder being as young as us

  • i managed to do it in 3 minutes 14 seconds its a hard cource to do

  • during the PRMC they dont care whos the best and most athletic they try and find the one whos pushing himself themselve.

  • @NathanAndrewLonsdale: id like to ask a question. im a 27 yr old ex smoker/drinker who is considering joining (maybe in a years time). i recently quit my habits to train myself in preparation for whatever the PRMC will throw at me. do you think it would be unrealistic to pursue this at my age and after abusing my body for so many years? any opinion you give will be appreciated.

  • @creeball Ofcource you could get in, If you try you probably have a better chance to get in than any of the other blokes because your alot more developed, All you need is a decent fitness level and the determaination to get through training, If you do go in a years time just to make it alot easyer just go on the Royal Marines website and look at their fitness plan which seems to do a hell load of good,

    Good Luck :)

  • @NathanAndrewLonsdale: thanks. im actually following the plan on the RM site, or at least a close variation of it. but thanks for clarifying that for me.

  • @creeball sadly yes, it would be to late to try and apply simply your age but even if you were a few years younger I am sure the smoking and drink would have already done it's damage and made it difficult for you. The age cut off is 25 years old

  • @CrystalCastles101: the cut off age is 25? well, the dude from the RM careers office has got some explaining to do....

  • @creeball sorry 26, you want to be an officer ?

  • @creeball Age

Direct entrants should be between 17 and 26 on the first day of the month of entry. Maximum age limits vary depending on the specialism but late entry is rare. from the website

  • @CrystalCastles101: no, it wasnt an officer im looking to go for, it was the commando, which i understand has a less pressing entry process than the officers role. but when i explained that i was 27, the gentleman at the careers office said it wouldnt be a problem.

  • My mates a marine is funny as fuck , got some sick stories and is fucked up in the head lol always asking me to suck him off and shit. its all banter and funny but still he is fucked lol

  • @Philtards That sounds bad to be honest with you

  • People thinking of joining the Royal Marines you must consider that all tests on the PRMC are conducted when ou are upon the point of exhaustion. So I would say be able to do 50 press ups, 70 sit ups and be able to run at 7 minutes a mile (thus running 3 miles in 21 minutes) and be able to get level 10 in the beep test. All of this must be achieved after a rigorious workout

  • i think they wont accept anything below 11 but basically the same thing

  • A question cause I'm more in the metric system how much is 1mile in km?

  • 2400m- 2.4km

  • Actually its 1.6km = 1 mile.

    2.4km is 1.5 miles.

  • "training for weeks"? More like months, if not years, the passers, anyway!

  • WEAK BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hi there anyone got a prmc on the 8th of december message me, cheers

  • Nah mate but I start RT in november, You'll be visiting us on day 1 at the end. And we'll have to prepare you for what is to come on bottom field. dig ou blind, dont give up. it DOES end. Best of luck matey.

  • i have my prmc on 17th of november when do you start rt ?

  • @thisguyssosick your on my PRMC

  • blakeyd1231, i depeneds on when u want to go in, i know a guy in the RM n he said u need to get ur running down to 18 mins, but i think it more about how far u will push ur self is wat there looking for, so depending if u take it proper they will let u in, just look at that blue peter guy, he gave it his all n they let him in

  • Lots of people say different things, i was told 12.5 minutes for the first mile and a half followed by a best effort of 9 minutes with a 10 minute max for the second half of the 3 mile run so ive been trying for 6 minute miles.

  • first run 12.5 minutes - a minutes rest - 10.5 minutes for second run.

i done my first run at 12kmh second run 14.5kmh. thats a pass.

got my PRMC on january... best of luck to all!

  • @0psycho Yep thats correct I reckon thats the hardest test if you crack it your doing good

  • @0psycho best of luck mate

  • @0psycho how did your PRMC go mate? im putting my applicationform in this month, right buzzing for it.

  • @0psycho you wont pass prmc on a treadmill fella. take it from me ave just passed

  • can anyone tell me how they myt think i will get on at the prmc course.. i can do(2mins)50 press ups 80sit ups..9pull ups 3 miles 19.32mins ???

  • Ask your local AFCO, they're the experts - not YouTube browsers.

  • bell end, dont ask stupid questions thats obviously good, more in the mind that fitness

  • But a great deal of fitness is required too, a civilian couldn't walk off the street just because he had "the state of mind" to do it, a 3 mile run in 22 minutes is pretty difficult particularly as its after the gym test on the second day of PRMC, im training myself to be able to do it and after 15 minutes at that pace i admit a lot of it is determination to finish - but then im only a beginner with goals.

  • we diddnt do anything like that before our gym test 1 on my prmc, we just went straight into, spose this was a while back, but glad we diddnt have to do that because i would have been ballbagged haha!!

  • He got it easy

  • im on week 3 wen we go bk, wats so bad about it? everything!!

  • im currently on week5 at ctc. dont join, its hell.

  • Whats so bad about it lol??

  • i'll list off a few of my personal hates.. camp circuit admin camp circuit admin wet and dry rutuine packing your burgen, in under 5minutes( admin getting to scran and back in 10 minutes staying up till 2am to finish admin, then getting up at 5am camp circuit
  • that sounds rough, least its the summer imagine starting all that in january when its freezing and dark, do the training team still treat everyone like pieces of shit?

  • if thats how you feel why dont you fuck off out?

  • ite m8 i start in 27 days u got any advice

  • Do you get any time off or is it solid training for 30 weeks?

  • Get 2 weeks off in easter and christmas, and 3 weeks off in summer.

  • 1day off on a sunday i think

  • Ok, thanks mate. :)

  • i start in 27 RT in 27 days any advice wud b apreciated m8

  • thanks for the help people i have my interview tomaz

  • he would never have passed. u need level 11 bleep test minimum.

  • nice one mate cheers

  • i have my interview on the 4th aug any tips on preperation ? cheers

  • I have just done mine, make sure you know you corps knowledgs and histroy read a book, and make sure you know the stages of basic training, the corps units locations and what they are up to around your interview and make sure you know what exactly they do on the prmc, first day second day and last make sur eoyu knwo everything basically...

  • yeh a little tip, joi the paras

  • for the interview - know allllll of the history DATES and about the badge and "what the RM do" and the deployment ships and where each commando section is based - dont just learn the stuff on the sheet they give u - but otherwise just show that u really want it like.

  • just done my prmc... was great!!

  • Good Luck with your training mate! I was in for 20 years and loved every minute theres no better fighting force!

  • hey mate. i was just wondering when ur havin pressups tests in gym test 1, do u really hav to do he harden version where u got to stick ur arms to ur sides and hold it at shoulder length?

    thanks

  • yes

  • the situps you have do when you have to so any are you anchored or was it as shown in the video

  • i would love to join Royal marines.. live in germany hold a british passport somebody there ho can cive me some information about joining??

  • You have to be either a British citizen or a member of the commonwealth countries i.e Canada, Australia etc.

I think you have to be living in the U.K or commonwealth countries for 4 years.

Fitness wise I'd say be able to run 2.5 km in 9 mins (this is compulsery), get a beep test score of 10-13 after a considerable warmup and be able to do at least 30 press ups and 50 sit ups and be able to score well in the additional exercises i.e. tricep dips prior to attempting the PRMC.

  • well i can join british army without have been living in the uk. okay i´d have to train my running times :P press ups and sit ups are no problem i do round about 80 sit ups and better in 2 mins and 60 - 70 press ups

  • just go and join, do normal soldier training for six months and on your sheet put that you are interested in joining the royal marines, easy as.

  • Comment removed

  • passed my prmc last week ;) :)

  • congratz mate, hopefully i'll have the same luck when it comes to mine

  • gud luck man all the best!

  • welll done i just got my go a head today 4th of aug had to do a rmad and pass first before they send you down 3rd time i did it just need to get the rocky soundtrack on the go me thinks lol

    well done anyways

  • gud luck dude !! just keep going

  • i was surprised about his upper body strength, but his cardio really sucks...

  • bullshit wud they have passed him

  • how long is this course? 2 days or 3?

  • they cut some of it out. ie monkey bars.

only way to train for this is run like mad until ur out of it, rest for a min then do it again. same with press ups. dont go lifting weights in a gym. its all own body weight.

good on him for doing it though. it is harder than in looks

  • No shirt and tie at lunch?

  • this is abit wierd, the 3 mile run is the first thing they do, its like they edited it in the wrond order =/.

and you sure he actuly passed? or just said he did for the tv?
