  • Standalone Mac and Windows builds are available on gamejolt (just search there for "hyperbowl")

  • @fugugames And now, you tell me. o_o

  • WERE COULD I DOWNLOAD THAT SOUNDTRACK?

    THANKS

  • @cesaralexis23 The game sounds are licensed by me along with the other original game assets from Hyper Entertainment only for use in developing new versions of the game - I cannot distribute them separately.

  • By the way, great job fixing the lag and making it looking better!

  • @Assirels Thanks, I used some of the new shaders in Unity 3.2. I'm not sure how I fixed the lag, but I did start using occlusion culling. That's a painful and tedious process, though.

  • Would you be nice enough to teach us how to make a game like this(similar) in Unity Free?

  • @Assirels I don't have time for free individual tutoring, but I'm considering selling the Unity projects for Fugu Games, including Fugu Bowl (a very simple bowling game I used to prototype the HyperBowl controls), on the Unity Asset Store. You can try it out the webplayer on the Fugu Games web page. Someone else also just started selling a $35 Unity bowling starter project on ActiveDen. I also have some tutorial info on my Technicat site and gave some tips on the HyperBowl Facebook page.

  • @fugugames Oh, yeah... I remember Fugu Bowl... well, okay...

  • i had this game when i was littile i still have it

  • Umm... it's out...

  • hey, it's icyshadow0, I GOT THE ARCADE EDITION... btw, look on this channels video of hyperbowl for a huge glitch that you shouldnt put in tokyo when unity 3.0 comes out.

  • @icyshadow0 If it's the same hardware, then the only thing I can think of is that Vista probably has newer graphics drivers.

  • @icyshadow0 No firm schedule, but I'll get back to work on it when Unity 3.0 is out of beta. That's taking longer than I thought, but it's just as well since I'm busy with my consulting work on Blue Mars - it pays the bills (and subsidizes my HyperBowl work), but it's also a cool project. Check out the YouTube account bluemarsonline1

  • @icyshadow0 They're on beta 5 now for Unity 3.0, so I think it'll be sooner than 2011. Maybe September. They made a huge number of changes (they updated pretty much everything), so it's taking a while to shake out the bugs.

  • Awww... im not even 18 yet! im not even 13 yet!

  • But do you know how I can get the other lanes for the Plus! edition now?

  • @icyshadow0 I don't know how the Plus edition worked - if they're downloadable lanes, you're probably out of luck. You can try contacting the hyperentertainment web site and see if they have any old copies of the Arcade Edition left, which is the like Plus but was distributed directly by them.

  • Dude, im only a kid. Don't expect me to have 1 million dollars... o-o

  • One more thing, I know you use Mac but can you make a windows package for me? Using online and offline lags the whole browser up, have 1.87GB of RAM too.

  • @icyshadow0 Sorry, no special orders! But I'll put some more thought into how I want to distribute/sell standalone versions (I was initially worried no one would buy a standalone version if the web version is free, but maybe for the convenience...) In the meantime, you might try different browsers - I've had a lot problems with IE. If the problem is independent of the browser then maybe it's an issue with the graphics card, in which case a .exe version would have the same problem.

  • @fugugames Nope. My graphics cards are brand new. And I don't have money so, nvm.

  • Just an update - you may notice now the web version has four lanes (up to High Seas) more or less fully functioning and San Francisco in a rough draft state. I'm trying out the 3.0 beta of the Unity game engine right now, so there won't be an update on the web site until that's out of beta and the new Unity plugin is officially released (although I might be able to update the iPhone/iPad version before then). But it should look good, there are some nice rendering features....

  • And one more thing, YOU ARE A TRUE GENUIS AND A GOD! YOU GAVE US AN OLD ABANDONED GAME THAT ROCKED!

  • @icyshadow0 You can thank the folks at Hyper Entertainment (my former employer) for granting me a license to do this.

  • Never mind, I found the link, it was hyperbowl . com / HyperBowl.unity3d

  • Can you give me a link that I can download to play offline? My internet connection is slow, it barely loads in a minute, it takes up to 15 minutes to load.

  • this is so cool. thanks a lot for sharing.

do you also know where I can play labyrinth? if it has any web version.

  • @PingGuerrero No idea about labyrinth. But I have the HyperBowl web player on the GameJolt and Wooglie web game portals (and Facebook) so you could check there.

  • I miss this game.... I would always play the version with 2 lanes that came with windows xp plus! Are you going to put the other courses from the orginal in it? (san fransisco, pirate ship, jungle, rome, tokyo)

  • I do plan to put in the other five levels, although at the moment I'm working out the kinks in the Classic lane and trying to add modern tech (next update will have improved physics and maybe some wavy grass and multiplayer). I licensed the original assets, but this is a new game engine so it takes a while to reconstruct each level. I have the Classic lane running on the iPhone right now, but it's the smallest lane - I don't know how well the others will fit...

  • I downloaded it, plays just like the pc version on my iphone first gen. Only one complaint, whenever I get to the last round, after the first pin hit, it freezes. (on the iphone version)

I am happy about the multiplayer hotseat. :D

I also bought fugumaze and I love it.

  • Thanks for buying! I just found a crash/freeze bug in HyperBowl that occurs if you get a spare in the ninth frame and I submitted a new update to Apple. I hope that'll fix what you're seeing. The new version (also just updated on the web and Mac widget) also has improved physics (particularly with the pins - now you can can get them to wobble) and added the trophy scene at the end of the game. It'll probably take a couple of weeks for the iPhone update to get approved.

  • Thanks. That was the problem. the shortest time that it took to get a update approved that I've heard of was 3 days. Hope it gets up soon. If you add the other lanes, I hope you add the hub where you roll your ball to choose the lane that was in the plus! version.

  • My current plan is to release each lane as a separate app as I get them to work (HyperBowl Forest, HyperBowl Roman...) and then if/when they're all working and if they fit together (it's a bit iffy, e.g. the Tokyo lane is at least four times larger than the Classic lane) then I'll combine them all into one app. But definitely, any lanes packaged together will have the selection lane - it's just too cool! I may have the selection lane up earlier on the web version, to show there's more coming...

  • Each lane as a separate app? I think you would lose many customers from that. I hate having to launch separate apps when I want to change something. If you just updated the hyperbowl classic into HyperBowl, and then added all the lanes in one app with one player and hotseat, and priced it from .99 -3.00, you would make so much money and good ratings.

  • I agree, I always clear out apps to make room, and others have stated the same view. But there are those who are waiting for one particular lane and only want to spend $.99, and I definitely want to charge more for a bundle. And if I release the next one with a second lane and the selection hub, people will assume all six lanes are forthcoming in one app, although some lanes may not run or perhaps just run on the 3G-S. I'm playing it by ear, though, so stay tuned.

  • Ok then. Just put in the world hub, then if somone with a iphone goes into san fransisco lets say, a message will pop up telling them they need a 3gs for it to run at full speed. They could pass this message, but the lane would run a little slower than the 3gs.

  • Hyperbowl 3D? Man, I'm curious for that game.

  • wow

  • Thanks, besides the web player there's a Mac widget version which I'm planning to update soon, and also an iPhone version, but with simpler graphics.
