Live Aid wasn't so great because he sang particularly well that day, ive heard Freddie sing much much better than that live. It was great because of the way he entertained the crowd and how they responded.He was a good live singer but he was known more for the way he delivered his performances. Paul Rodgers can deliver keep his voice so flawless, you'd think it was recorded in a studio. Freddie could do that aswell, but not as persistantly, Paul has kept it like that throughout all performances.

Hang on a minute Q+PR. This is Paul Rodgers singing a song that made him famous. The original guitarist is dead. Besides which, this event was a chance pairing was it not - Rodgers and Queen were receiving significant awards. In the case of Queen music Freddie is dead! I took my sons to Sheffield to see Q + PR.
And, he's not Freddie Mercury.
But, he's a performer with experience, confidence and tremendous ability.
I actually concluded that the Sheffield concert was better than any other Queen performance I'd seen.
It was more raw, edgier, and decidedly more 'rock 'n roll'.

Paul does a great job giving Queen songs that bluesy edge.
Brian and Roger add their own little touches to Free/Bad Company songs.
They all sound great and they have fun playing together.
I hope they continue to make music together for a long time.

I would normally hate someone new coming in {LIKE PINEADA IN JOURNEY BLAH} but paul rogers no matter what band he's been in usually rule i mean Free and Bad Co. are 2 of the best classic rock bands. As long as Paul keeps it rockin Q+R will rule.

It sounded like Paul Rodgers said Simon was Paul Kossoffs (sp) son. Paul was the guitarist for the band FREE, who originally did this song. Hope that helps ya 'mebloke69'

Hang on a minute Q+PR. This is Paul Rodgers singing a song that made him famous. The original guitarist is dead. Besides which, this event was a chance pairing was it not - Rodgers and Queen were receiving significant awards. In the case of Queen music Freddie is dead! Are the other guys supposed to hang about with glum faces for rest of their lives?

I cannot believe how he throws the mike stand up at the end and it goes straight up and he catches it at the exact right beat and goes to his knee! And then at the last beat at the end, he does it again! This is not a young guy...amazing.

For those wishing to slate Paul Rodgers I have seen them twice at the O2 this year and they are amazing, keeping a great bands music alive, Freddy would be proud of Paul and the rest of guys as are the fans - no one is trying to take Freddie's place just keeping those happy memories and great music alive for us all and future generations! x

Sorry if this offends or upsets anyone but..
Why in the HELL would they continue the band without Freddy. No matter how much they love making music, without Freddy it's worthless. No, that's not what bothers me the most. What bothers me is that they call themselves Queen still. That's terrible. It's NOT Queen without Freddy Mercury.

Well actually they are continuing because they can. Queen was strong through Freddie and no-one will ever replace him but Queen will still rock. People like Paul Rogers will be good in some songs but not so good in others even if he belongs in Queen or not, nothing will stop them from rocking and everyone should know that. Sorry bout spelling.

I disagree, but he is amazing. They're totally different. I know if he were still here everyone would want Freddie, but it's not to be. This is the BEST alternative we could possibly have. Better this than no Queen at all and again, Paul Rodgers is absolutely amazing, a class act. I know wherever Freddie is right now he'd be more than happy with this.
