  • Only one man can say he won the greatest fight of all time, MUHAMMAD ALI!

  • brutal war! one of the best fights ever!

  • Why no sound?

  • very great figther

  • @tapiaassasin wtf does that have to do with ali being an asshole please elaborate. Fucking idiot

  • ALI IS THE GRATEST,. There wil be nothing again like him

  • @00Jackacid i agree that the vietnam war was stupid but its like in school. The football coach is the gym teacher and he gives the football players automatic A's but the kids who arent on the team get cu no slack what so ever. Im not saying the country had to rally behind the war but wat i am saying is people get the shit end of the stick sometimes and its not very fair that some people because of their status in society get off easy wen they refuse to do what everyone else has to do.

  • @Stcs94

Do yourself a favour and shut the fuck up kid.Your a pimple faced teenager without the slightest of clue of what you're talking about. If did know what you were talking about, you'd know that Ali would have had it easy had he gone to vietnam. He would never have in a million years of seen the field of battle and was being sent over for purely propaganda purposes.

  • @tapiaassasin your an idiot

  • @ruffneckization it takes more balls to go and fight for ur country. Like i said "sometimes u gotta deal" how do u think the people fighting felt about that? They must have been pissed. Ik i wuld. Ali was a dick and a belt means nothing. I have 5 of them tht i wear all the time but i dont get all high and mighty. A true champion has the attitude of one not just the trophy and he had the attitued of a 12 year old kid who won his towns little league championship. Its a disgrace

  • @Stcs94 nationalism isnt inherently righteous or infallible. vietnam was not a just war.

  • @iskiduo he wuld also make up stories about racism and shit so everyone wuld wanna have him win. Many historical figures have a dark side no matter how big or small. Some hide it better but he hid it in plane site and 80% of the people who saw him put the blinders on. I dont like him in or out of the ring for specific reasons

  • @Stcs94 who cares

  • @iskiduo I just think hes an asshole for it and no it was the main issue later he thought "that was a stupid reason i shuld think of another" vietnam was a stupid war but sometimes u gotta deal. In the ring his style is the only reason why he was hard to beat. In this fight frazier figured him out. its a beat down. Frazier took quite a few hits too but for the "great" muhammad ali to get rocked like that shows that its the style not talent or heart.

  • @Stcs94 lol "sometimes you gotta deal? wtf? yeah the war that majority of country was against millions of vietnamese dead at end and 60,000 dead americans for what..."yeah just deal"...lol what an idiotic statement. You do KNOW that the govt offered him a sweetheart deal right? He goes to vietnam for 8 months, keeps the belt NO combat and does exhibition fights..he said NO...take my title...convict me, i dont care im not doing it, i doubt youd have the guts to do something like that pal

  • @thecaptbob1 and he shuldnt have had it overturned. Anyone else wulda had to serve the full sentence. It was one of those hilton or lohan situations. "well they are really famous i guess we culd work something out" hes sitting there talking shit about everyone especially whites and how they oppress when the white government of the time cut him a great deal

  • @thecaptbob1 dude frazier ruined ali. Ali got up after fraziers corner stopped the fight against fraziers will and ali collapsed. If it was the 15th round instead frazier wuld get a tko

  • @Stcs94 - the name issue was a 'side issue'. He didn't want to go to Vietnam because in his own words "No Vietcong ever called me nigger"!, and "This is a white man's war and i aint no slave"!

It is ok not to like him - but to dislike or demean his ability in the ring based on his refusal to go to war is perhaps a bit naive. However, i do believe that the work he did to promote race awreness and race relations, since his retirement from boxing, has completely overshadowed that one incident.

  • James Toney send me here

  • @78Panji whose being racist? (RIP joe frazier btw) his birth name was cassius clay. He knew full well tey were referring to him during roll call all he had to do was step forward but then get it straightened out later but he had to be immature. People were in vietnam dying for their country some didnt wanna be thre but went anyway and he was being a childish asshole. Race has nothing to do with it

  • I didn't know until I wrote a paper in English that Malcolm X had influenced Muhammad Ali's conversion to Islam

  • There wouldn't be a Hulk Hogan without Andre The Giant. There wouldn't be a Magic Johnson without a Larry Bird. And there wouldn't be a Muhammad Ali without Joe Frazier. LEGEND!

  • fraizer is one of the top 10 boxers of all time! greatest left hook in boxing history

  • Cassius clay was hi birth name. Tht was his name in the US armed forces system. He got called to war and during roll call he didnt step forward cuz they called cassius clay instead of muhammad ali. He made a big stink about it and said "i aint goin" all because the "champ" culdnt suck it up and say "here and its muhammad ali" he lost the title and got i think 10 years? Hes an idiot. Not a good guy.

  • @Stcs94

his name is ali you christian rasist asshole

  • @Stcs94

Get your facts straight. Ali was fighting again in 3 years after the supreme court overturned his suspension AND went on to regain his belt AND whip Smokin Joe, George Foeman AND everyone else who got in his way!

  • Cascius Clay

  • no sound?

  • Sharp as a razor, "Smokin" Joe Frazier ! R.i.p Champ...

  • Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, JR, every million $ baby knows

  • i like ali but during the fights i was for frazier. ali was such a loudmouth

  • RIP Joe Frazier.

  • If Joe goes to hell, he'll box his way out. If Joe goes to Heaven, he'll want to go to hell to knock out Satan. RIP Joe Frazier!

  • RIP Smokin Joe Frazier

  • RIP Smokin' Joe Frazier

  • Wow Ali changed his style completely compare to his 1st and 2nd fight.

  • @8:02 BOOM! COME 'ERE!

  • Joe Frazier was always a better sport than Ali, was no need fore constant insults and such.

  • The the end of 2 rounds i think any1 with eyes can see Ali has won both rounds. Great jab, 1-2, and timing by Ali. Frazier isnt getting his punches off at all so far even when he seems to be in close his just not throwing like hes known for

  • It's crazy how ali didn't lift weights and he looked Hella ripped, sort of

  • @Montey10 lifting weights is not good for a boxer,it stiffens you, especially for a guy who uses constant movement like Ali....

  • 6:09

    Ali gets mad

  • The has to be, without a doubt, the most brutal heavyweight fight I have ever seen. Both men wanted nothing more than to beat the daylights out of each other, whatever primes these men may have had were taken away as a result of this fight. I can only imagine what would have happened had there been a round 15. Great, awesome fight, but definitely not lacking in it's overall brutality.

  • these 2 were like a husband and a wife.Frazier was the masculine Ali was like the feminine LOL..

  • @onlyjoetee Not funny....

  • @JRGrange25 its true hahahahaha

  • Ali is by far the best sportsman of all times

  • wtf is up with the audio

  • @mrfunkeymunkey1 dude it's 1975

  • The best fights are ones which are fought either between two close friends or two bitter enemies. This definitely falls into the second category.

  • I can't imagine what kind of conditioning you would need to bob and weave constantly for 15 rounds, the way Joe Frazier would

  • Thumbs up if you know Ali's first name before Muhammed

  • @TheSchroeSchroe cashes clay

  • @TheSchroeSchroe Cassius Clay-Cassius X-Muhammad Ali.

  • @TheSchroeSchroe yea buddy Cassuius Marcelllus Clay BABY!

  • @TheSchroeSchroe cassius clay

  • Boxing was amazing then, now its just talking trash and not fighting

  • @mrwaqy Who talks trash and doesn't fight? The only person who does that is floyd. Don't judge boxing today because of one person.

  • I am going to talk like this announcer for an entire day.

  • Heavyweights can't barely go 8 rounds without getting out of puff, ali constant movement and shuffling in the 12th with more energy than the 1st , never be a man like him in boxing . G.O.A.T

  • If Eddie Futch didn't stop the fight, I think either Ali would have quit, because he was pleading while Frazier's corner stopped the fight, or one of the fighters would've been stopped during the 15th. Tough to say, and anyone could suggest a conclusion, but at the end of the day we'll just never know.

  • great post, thanks alot.

  • Joe Frazier had lost a lot of his speed by this time getting hit solid and too often

  • @billthestinker ali had lost 4 year of his prime , ali was getting stronger and stronger , nothing to do with joe getting hit

  • great fight :)

  • @QawiBraxton81 up to the 14th the judges had it 7 and 7 and the other scores were Al ahead by 1 point!

  • look at this, ali was the greatest cuz he fought everybody! sucks to see this generation of fighters like mayweather and pacquiao, both ducking fighters! mayweather ducking pacquiao and pacquiao ducking marquez and berto!

  • im not going to lie , i kinda like the way Ali is boxing him . Hes moving more laterally than backwards and is focusing more of his energy on punching rather than boucing around . Also i notice when he isnt bouncing up & down his shots actually look harder to walk through , plus he has his hands up higher to pick those hooks off

  • Comment removed

  • There is nothing wrong or shameful about quitting after 10 rounds of a fight as brutal as their third. Why are you guys arguing? So what if Ali decided he'd had enough? Isn't he human after-all? Who knows, perhaps had Dundee cared enough about his fighter- rather than perceive him as a piece of meat that had to fight till he dropped- maybe Ali would be in a better state today.

  • 2 of the best of all time going to war

  • This fight was lopsided from rounds 12 and on in favor of Ali, he virtually hit Frazier at will which earned Ali the TKO. I thought it was smart for Frazier and his corner to stop, Frazier could have been seriously hurt, In fact I believe the after effects of this fight took its tole on Frazier and was never the same, he lost his next 2 fights and retired soon after.

  • i doubt we will see HEAVYWEIGHT boxing as great as this again.

  • @blundell1818 After Ali, Frazier and Foreman (years 70) only Tyson, Bowe, Holyfield and Lewis could compete with them ... And it took 25 years

  • Did you see the timing and speed on that right hand at 8:02 ! legends ! Ali the best though. In my opinion of course.

  • a very nice video

  • Ali 2-0

  • @TommyGun7111 Ali 2-1 Frazier

  • @dattandai

Yea but I only scored the first two rounds.

  • @TommyGun7111 Oh, rounds? I thought you just meant the number of fights both Ali and Frazier won in their trilogy, lol.

  • @TommyGun7111 Also on the third fight, Ali was ready to throw the towel in, but lucky for him, Fraziers corner did (against Joes wishes) ali admits he is lucky to have won that fight!

  • @lukie69 Ali SUGGESTED to his corner that he wanted them to cut his gloves cause he was so exhausted but that is alot different than actually quitting, at basically the same time Frazier's corner suggested to Frazier that he should throw in the towel because at that time Ali was pounding him at will and would knock him out any time soon, Frazier didn't want to but he ultimately agreed to quit in his stool. Smart move at the time because Ali even though he was tired he was pounding Frazier badly.

  • @NyyGyro I am slightly confused, what is the difference between "getting his gloves cut off" this ending the fight, and "quitting" Either way the fight will be stopped by the giving up, regardless of exhaustion, cut eye, or any other reason! Frazier can only see out of 1 eye, and that eye was beaten badly during the fight, hence why he was getting hit because he had no sight! The fact remains, that Ali was about to quit, and it was the corners decision to throw the towel in for Frazier!

  • @lukie69 And yet he didn't quit, thats the difference and thats why he WON the fight. Ali pounded Frazier on will after the 11th and especially after the 13th. And Frazier agreed to stop the fight because HE and HIS corner especially knew he was done, Frazier admitted he would get knocked out if he went out in the 15th. Just like you said, he couldn't see from one eye because Ali completely shut it closed. Frazier was brave but he still received a pounding nonetheless.

  • @NyyGyro It is 100% that you have a biased opinion and clearly "Ali is your hero" Which is fair play. The documentary I watched:.buzzintv.co.uk/thrilla-in-manila-ali-v-smokin-joe-frazier/233 "Thrilla in Manila" with both sides, Ali and Fraziers stating different to you, hence me commenting! All I can say is watch it, and you will believe what I am saying.. Joe did not agree to stop the fight, his corner made that decision, if his corner did not make that decision, Ali wud have quit!

  • @lukie69 I've watch many videos including that one and many are Frazier biased. Of course Frazier will say he didn't agree but he really did(am I sure of it?No) BUT Neither could you be about Ali quitting, Why? Because as braggadocious as Ali was he ALWAYS diplomatic towards his opponents when he beat them ESPECIALLY Frazier hence why Ali praised Frazier so much after their trilogy. The fact remains, they couldn't deal with Frazier losing to Ali twice regardless of Ali's exhaustion.

  • @lukie69 PS im no were near being biased as I am the biggest fan of Foreman and Joe Louis. I simply acknowledge Ali's greatness and give points on this trilogy. The fact remains, Frazier fans couldn't deal with Frazier, the first man to legitimately defeat Ali in the first bout, lose TWICE to Ali right after. Regardless of whatever is said it does not take away the fact that Ali dominated Frazier from rds 11-14 in their 3rd bout and he EARNED the TKO. Frazier was done, im glad they stopped it...

  • @lukie69 Ali would not have quit. He just wrote that to make Frazier feel better idiot. Frazier got smacked around and his ass kicked.

  • @truthfulmind Awww sorry, I forgot you know Ali well, and clearly that is what he told you, yeah?!?!?! "IDIOT" I am talking about a documented fact from the "Ali Corner" not just some random opinion because I idolise Ali!!! Oh and it wasn't wrote, I am talking about a documentary! Again "Idiot" So don't jump on to my post giving it the big man!

  • @truthfulmind Watch The Thriller in Manila part 8, and part 9.... Ali said to Angello Dundee his corner man "Cut my gloves off" after the 14th round, "He was pleading with his corner to stop the fight" FACT!!!!!! You can not argue with that! UNLUCKY SON

  • @lukie69

    Is it on youtube?

Because all these people say Ali was about to given despite Frazier Blacking out!

And he was the champion, I mean i doubt it because he fought an entier fight against NOrton with a broken jaw, but Poof is proof so if its here on yourtube i want to see it.

  • @truthfulmind smacked around r u stupid, he hurt ali just as much as ali hurt him, ali said this must be what death feels like, both got their assess kicked

  • ali looks slower then he usually does

  • @blakTiGGeRXXX thats cos hes 33, hes lost his pace. still technically and tactically brilliant though

  • @blakTiGGeRXXX Yeah He was never as fast after he came back in 1971. I thought his accomplishments in the 70s were that much more impressive because he beat the best boxers of his ERA in his prime in the 60s and then when he was not in his prime in the 70s he still beat them...he just found ways to beat them...a perfect example is when he beat my idol George foreman which always hurts me to say but its fights like that that made Ali.

  • Ali...The greatest of all time !!!

  • its so funny when new guys comes to train boxing where i train...... beacause it looks so much easier than it really is..... and its funny to see the look on theyr face,s when they realise that its not that easy

  • was huge!!!!

  • ALI looks huge in this fight. He's almost as big as the klitchko brothers. I wonder how this Ali would have done against Vitali.

  • @JohnnyBoyCali LOOKS huge he is huge!

  • @JohnnyBoyCali, yup, Ali was 6 foot 3, 224 lbs in this fight, that was huge, and for a man to move so swiftly and fast at that size, boggles my mind to the extreme

  • @kingdarius1991 Apparently he and Frazier were much heavier than their announced weights on fight night- and it sure looks that way.

  • I see this would be like Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather but more technical

  • This was the greatest heavyweight title fight ever!!!!

  • Howard Cosell is a great sportscaster, bu I prefer Don Dunphy.

  • @Rockyfan10060 i toataly agree

  • Thank you.

  • ALI IS ALL BUSINESS!

  • Well Whoever said Tyson would have had too much bulk and power for Ali hasnt obviously thought of some of the guys Ali fought, outsmarted and beat of similar styles and power.. Foreman who bounced Frazier around like a basketball with huge power, Shavers who was said to be one of the hardest punchers in history.. the list goes on, you cant compare the very powerfull 70s era in heavyweight boxing to the very weak mid-late 80s and early 90s

  • i can't stand sport commentators who have never participated in the sport they talk about. the commentator was clearly talking from a lack of boxing knowledge. from rounds 1-9 Frazier won only round 6. it doesn't matter who is the aggressor when all your doing is running into punches i do the same things to my opponents. guys who rush in trying to throw too many shots makes the boxing part alot easier

  • MickeyMouse Gloves are better :l

  • COME ON GORILLA, WE IN MANILA!!!!

  • Ali was 224 1/2 for this fight and I believe Frazier was 215.

  • Ali was pretty heavy in this bout. Against Liston he was about 215. Ali was 224 in this bout.

  • @CassiusAli67 ho was 205 agianst liston not sure 4 thrilla how much

  • Thanks. He was pretty light when he beat Lisron. I thought he was heavier than that.

  • @bojanstoiljkovic Im pretty sure he was 210... Good wt for his ht 6'3 1/2 with Ali's quickness!!

  • 2-0 Ali won both rounds with right leads and jabs.

  • this is as close as Ali vs Tyson will get wit Fraziers style so close to tyson

  • @vPanya No way frazier is nothing like tyson...tyson was quick powerfull had bags of skill in his chosen style, ali threw some silly punches at times man and im telling you tyson would catch him often and ali at his fastest would be about 210 pounds and i dont think ali would have the bulk to take much from tyson, tyson hit harder than all of them

  • @THOMASBANTON , hahahhhah, you are funny , if ali hit tyson like he hit frazier tyson would be out , outttttttttttttttttttttttttt.

  • amazing how the best boxing fight in history took place in manilla, my country's capitol

love these 2 guys, the top guys of there time n living legends

  • 2-0 Ali

  • Comment removed

  • Cossell, he says Ali dominated the 1st round, hardly..but this is the way it was with the proAli announcers. Ali could have had a point taken away already for pulling his head down. The punch Ali landed with him holding his left hand in Joe's face is illegal...but, it was Ali you know.

  • @blite13 but now you sound biased, favoring Frazier, seeing as how you don't mention the multiple low shots Frazier threw which I believe if I'm not wrong are also illegal and deserve deducted points.

  • Low blows? Ali's hip protector was up at his stomach. When someone is pulling your head down while punching to the body, it will go low, not Joe's fault.

  • man, I am a big fan of frazier, but dude, give it a rest. you sound like ali raped your mother or something... i wish ali had raped my mom, maybe then i could box a little better. but seriously, ali did dominate the first, not on the basis that ali did a lot, but on the basis that frazier did next to nothing...

  • Ali did nothing..so give it a rest. ali was holding his left hand in Joe's face...illegal...Ali pulling down on Joes head..illegal...if it were any other boxer, that's stern warnings or even points...but because he is Ali....FACT.

  • I guess you did not see that Frazier did the same thing to Ali,holding his head and a lot of low blows... But they can't be blamed because they were so angry and just wanted to " kill " the other one....

  • Howard, your hair is crooked. Lucky for Ali he decided to train hard, if he came in so so shape, he wouldn't of made it.

  • This is some of the best boxing you will ever see. Two of the best for a third matchup.

  • YOU know whats awesome ? mocking one of the most respected legendary sportswriter / broadcasters ever because youre an ignorant disrespectful little idiot

  • @cpdusmcdst9 So right Howard is a legend of the sport !!!

  • @cpdusmcdst9 howard cosell is my fav

  • @cpdusmcdst9 Agreed - but he could also be one of the most annoying, self indulgent little pricks you ever heard, too! What kept Ali from knocking him out several times is beyond me!! LOL

  • cant no one beat ali

  • @Quaddar1000 cant nobody beat rocky

  • The Thrilla in Manila !

  • is that how people talked in the 70s? anyways it makes everything sound intresting.

  • i think it's just because he's a radio announcer. they got people that sounded and talked like that to make it more interesting like you said.. im not from the 70's but i dont think they talked liek that. haha

  • lol didnt captain kirk talk like that? they probably used it only for TV, mainly actors and people doing voice work(anouncer, narrator etc)

  • yeah :P it's weird though, eh!

  • im glad and happy for you im delighted you take yourself seriously ...i dont ..i cant speak for everybody else like you claim to be able to do

but i have a question for you?? just what are Ali's Nuts like? you spend so much time hugging them i thought i would ask your expert opinion ?

  • I dont know about his nuts, sorry to dissapoint you. I knew there was something you did like about him though

  • your the one who is Ali's gay lover lol

i bet you dream of licking the sweat out of his boxing shorts lol

ok name me another fighter you like? you HATE joe Frazier

so really your argument is biased cos you DESPISE one of the fighters

  • dont be so mad that I like Ali. I mean, you dont need to be jealous of an old man with parkinsons do you? You shouldnt be so jealous either- you got half the internet tearing up your booty for you, you dont have anything to be jealous of

  • Im trying to find another version. This thing has HQ but the commentary is dull, and you cannot hear any of the punches -its mute.

  • well go find the other one then, it aint hard, its all they ever show, the Don Dunphy one. I was glad as hell to see this one for once. I hadnt seen it since it was originally broadcast. Cossell knew about boxing, & its fun to hear him again. That Don Dunphy broadcast was the boring one. I mean THIS is the difficult one to find. I dont know what you even talking about- you just talking shit. Theres no way you looked up thrilla in Manilla & found this one before the other one

  • since you judged me in another comment i shall JUDGE you back lets see if you can take it aswell as you like to insult and TRY to degrade others with your pathetic feeble attempts to berate them.

You Bodiddly have an attitude problem ...how do you know what he searched to find this video? are you some type of Yoda and know what everybody is thinking and doing in the world?? you seem to think you are. leave talking about boxing to MEN like us who can talk rationally and like ADULTS

  • BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • CHILDISH GROW UP LOL

  • i think in this fight frazier didnt care about winning anymore ali had been terrible in his comments building up these fights that i think jo just wanted to hurt ali as bad as possible ...and he done that he hit ali directly in the heart in the kidneys on the hips ...i dont think winning matterd to jo by this point it was all about inflicting punishment which he did ...i mean look at ali now and look at jo

  • yeah, you right, frazier didnt care! BS!!! The dude cared so bad he could have died right in the ring. "Winning didnt matter to Joe at this point"- Are you HIGH??? how old are you?? You must just hate Ali to say some crap like that- you just dont like it he won so great

  • Frazier wanted to win this here fight in Manilla more than any other fight in his career. What, you think he was thinking, 'shit, muhammad called me too many names in the buildup to the fight, so i dont care if he wins now'. wow, is that what you think? thats so smart

  • people just love to talk shit about Muhammad. Dude was the bravest man to ever lace up gloves, I know the hell out of that! He beat guys who were bigger, tougher, from rougher towns, everything. Nobody ever scared him, & he scared everybody. He would take everything they could throw & laugh at them. Incred-a-fukkin-ble!

  • Ali was a brave and good fighter ... he is not called the GOAT for no reason

but you my friend are a SHEEP cos you wont accept any comments that dont match your own narrow views

  • I think it is you who is the sheep. You try to tell me no one takes me serious, like that will bother me. I dont give a fuck WHO takes me serious! I TAKE ME SERIOUS, thats all I careabout. You worry about everybody else because it is YOU who is the sheep- baa baa baa. YOU take ME serious too, but you too much a liar to admit it
