I tried the aa12 once when the game came out and I just said to myself "this is shit" and I never used it again until these last few days. And now I think its awesome especially with specialist so that you have damage and range, and scavenger and sleigh of hand + extended mags (I know the glitch is patched, but you need the extra shells). On maps like seatown you can OWN as long as you avoid places where the aa12 is out of its range. Only FMGs and Striker have a chance up close, a tiny chance
