ZJK always plays under pressure. He likes to do it much in most of his games where he loses the first or second set then comes back and win the match.

ZJK he may look like a simple player more than a creative one, he may not be skilled at chops and lobs and loops and spins but he has the skill to study his opponents' weaknesses and attack. FTW

One reason Jike could comeback is Mizutani doesn't have enough physical strength, hard to keep going and defense was too much when he won 3 games.

Zhang Jike did much more offensive because he didn"t give up.

@tyoungos neither zhang nor mizutani is really a blocker. zhang is an attacker and mizutani isn't really a blocker, just freakishly consistent. but otherwise you're completely right. zhang is going to be number 1 soon

Now his job is to keep any european player away from the top 3 in any tournament just like all the other chinese players like wang liqin, chen qi, etc. Its a chinese tactic to keep the youngest players at rank 1 and older players to protect them, and so far this tactic works great. Ma long will stay rank 1 for a while but then zhang jike will come up and ma long will have to protect zhang jike, always been like this and always will be like this.

@tyoungos mizutani gave up his strategy completely, after losing one game. he might've done well had he kept going, which was to hit light, medium spin shots where jike's speed wouldn't be that high of an advantage. and he kept missing with his backhand cuz he's used to harder shots.

mizutani should have mixed it up if jike was getting used to it. 5th game on, jike is playing a lot more comfortably when the pace and power is up

@max095 not spirit. after 6th game, he lost form. got too excited over the big rally. then he tried hitting high arc loops. then to compensate after losing, he tried to hit them lower, but ended up going flatter on the ball. some of his shots at the end were too much arm. he tried to block and counter to get back his touch but u don't have time to do that in a match vs a pro of zj's level
