Ginny Arnell , like Babs Tino and Bernadette Caroll, were talented young teen pop/light rock singers who never quite got their due. I love the better-known and remembered Connie Francis...but I just wish these singers also got their due. Ironically, it's the young folks today (who are into retro, that is) who are recognizing these ladies for their talent.
Yet another wonderful early-to-mid 60s (1963-1965) underrated singer. I love everything she released.Tthis song, if you get behind it, is a really sad. poignant song. Poor Ginny! Has anyone heard of her earlier duets with Gene Pitney -- late 50s -- as Jamie & Jane? (They were both from Connecticut). A few of them were great! (I LOVE finding wonderful stuff that's not recognized or known much about!)
Im a guy, and I love this song. Most of us know what the pain of a teenage break up feels like. When my first girlfriend broke up with me, the last thing that I wanted was to bump into her, and I didn't until 41 years later and it still felt awkward. Thank You (boopkid) for posting, this Ginny Arnell classic.
Everything about this song is genius-a seriously under-appreciated and badly promoted singer-this video is very cute-and I'm a straight guy! Ginny please re-issue this song today, promote it well and make lots of money!
@9284vr I agree, the song, the voice, the imagery it conjures up are great, and that is why I tried to match the images to the song so exactly. I love Ginny, her voice is magical, melodic and full of emotion.
@wareidav I, too, love this softer side of Rock n' Roll. Thankfully, even today there are occasional shows re-creating the feel of those more innocent days. For example, type in "romance set show sampler" and you will see some gals whose voices harmonize quite sweetly.
ain't that always the way....Shey Shey....I've actually have friends that tell me that this is the saddest song they have ever heard!!! Ginny delivers a perfect teen angst performance......don't stare.....don't stare!!!
This is adorable! It reminded me of the crush I had on Troy Donahue!!! LOL! And the way you switched colors reminded me of my FAVORITE scene in Sleeping Beauty- when the fairies were fighting-- Make it pink! Make it blue! Remember?
Do I? You bet, it inspired me to create it as such. By the way, the movie is being released on DVD this week, first time in wide screen Cinemascope and scenes never before seen. Thanks!
Thanks! It was hard to time it all, but the end result worked out. I had to put so many special effects, I thought the computer was going to crash..You are so funny, Wayne. I can't find that bracelet...It's forever in that video...;o)
Sergio, This is your finest work!!! Not only is the performance by Ginny perfect, but your work really shows in this masterpiece...I love it!!! I was waiting for "green,red,yellow,blue....and you pulled it off PERFECTLY!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Wayne in Texas "SuperSergio!!!"
It would be nice if Rhino would release ALL of Ginny's material from Decca, Warwick and MGM. Poker has just released her original MGM album "Meet Ginny Arnell" with all her MGM songs. They've remastered it beautifully and the cover booklet is full of Ginny pics and info. An older one by Marginal with a similar cover is also available, but it is not as good as the new Poker release.
Ginny is still with us and very appreciative of her fans. Thanks for posting.
so cute! i love oldies!!!

I just love this softer side of Rock `n` Roll
Lovely looking girls that could actually sing!!! Todays female artists could do with taking a leaf out of their book.

Love It. Love the all. The theme clearly reflects the teen girl's dilemmas of the era. Masterpiece. Thx Joe

Hi, is there a video of Miss Ginny Arnell singing, I have not seen one before. Please post one. Thank you for posting.

From my understanding, Ginny appeared on American Bandstand once, but no videos exist of it...I inquired with the Dick Clark company.

Sometimes it happens, I guess more in the studio singer. Thanks.

I first heard this on a 2-part collection called "Growing Up Too Fast--The Girl Group Anthology". She also has "DUMB HEAD" on there.
I wonder if there's any chance Rhino Records might release ALL of Ginny's material as a special...Like they did with Shelly Fabaraes.
Thank you so much for posting this...NOW, at least, I know what Miss Arnell looked like ( is she still with us? )
