  • oh them moogs are sweets :)

  • I think peeps should feck off with the Bowie connections, who went main stream? who went down the pop route? who retired? ... Ah that will be you Sir Bowie of David. meanwhile Gary is really fecking rocking!!

  • Don't question his sexuality, or his writing, or his affinity for PK Dick . . . find something fragrant to smoke, turn the amps up to eleven, and surrrrrrrfffffff . . . anything else is just masturbation.

  • addictive!!

  • I always questioned his sexuality, possibly he experimented or camp was this era. Either way He is a legend in his own right

  • CHECK OUT THE HISTORY WHERE REPLICAS IDEAS CAM FROM LOW BOWIE WITH PLAYLIST LOW AND REPLICAS ALL THEIR SONGS IN ONE PLAYLIST CALLED WHERE NUMANS IDEAS CAME FROM ON THE JONNYBONE100 CHANNEL HOPE YA LIKE IF YA BOWIE AND NUMAN FANS AND MUCH MORE

  • @jonnybone100 LOW is a bit disappointing, even with Eno etc around, Bowie could've done a better job. This Tubway album sounds more interesting than LOW. I think one of the greatest albums ever would've been: Tubway Army,Bowie and Eno working together on a great new album!

  • This song is hard to avoid....

  • Don't need any kind of drugs to enjoy Gary Numans music.....fantastic music!!!

  • brilliant song

  • @deniwsk the music was pushed just as much then as now, it's just that it was good pushed music :)

  • just listen to the music .like nothing ive heard before or since .

  • A true classic and the genius was coming......

  • f..ing fantastic!

  • Fucking brilliant!!!

  • Cool song to put on when your tripping.

  • @maldoman41 There always has to be a drug promoter around no? Usually to make the most redundant comments like you did.

  • @maldoman41 TWAT!

  • @schmads shush...he's right, if this ain't psychedelic music then i'm a banana.

  • @maldoman41 I agree, well said,mate.

  • Fantastic song. I'm hearing the carefully crafted and inevitable reaction of someone who got gang-raped by the Thot Police. Fucking brilliant.

  • But the police came

And I said it was me

    And I just walked away

  • To bad he went Pop in 82, or was it 83?

  • machine rock at its best .

  • @kidcurryful yes sir! :)

  • the music press regard him as uncool.ask derrick may for his opinion and he will probably tell you something different.and if you dont know who derrick may is,then your'e a proper fucking numpty.

  • @TheTuffers I regard you as uncool.

  • This to me will always be Numans 'theme' tune....Keep the machines rocking Numanoids !!!

  • Great song to play when you're tripping

  • Bring back the '80s? NO Will will have none of that.

  • @Tulsyag1 Then you do not have any taste in music! If you cannot recognize real and great music then you shouldn't listen to it in the first place! @deniwsk I agree totally on the music bit but can you imagine the chaos that would happen without the technology everybody is used to?

  • @Tulsyag1 Yes bring back all of the 80s with the exception of Reagan, Thatcher, AIDS/HIV, and the drug usage/dealing problems!

  • @jrmetmoi Agreed! What is master Numan singing about? Dehumanisation, alienation, death, etc. That must tell you something about what he thought of the era.

  • 1975-1985 were golden age, very very good times, we should bring back everything from 80's, not just music but a lot more ... And compare that outstanding music to what we are supposed to listen nowadays, promoted and almost forced upon our brain cells by our beloved brainwashing mass media ... :( it is sad and disgusting, i can't listen to that noise

  • His deeper slower grooves always worked better than the upbeat radio pop.

  • This song was even better done live when Gary used to sing this live back in 1979 and 1980. Because of all the much fancier keyboard and guitar work when he played it live.

  • I love his synth work.

  • This is classic stuff you cant beat it fuck all the haters for listening to the new generation garbage they dont realize how ignorant they sound when they make fun of this kind of music because they dont know what real music is

  • got in trouble for playing out load in school on my i-pod and i said this is a good piece of music what i got told was it was not my era and i should listen to new stuff and a argument broke out and i lost it because it was 1 against 29

  • @SuperSonicAnime19 I wouldn't worry about them, that's like saying no-one should listen to beethoven or mozart, ignorant, stick to what you like. If it's personal choice you can't be wrong :)

  • @lechaise the thing they don't know is these guys started every thing off like Kraftwerk, OMD, Ultravox and soft cell this album means a lot to me my friends say listen to new stuff and i say you got guns and roses i got Tubeway army

  • @SuperSonicAnime19 Sorry Kraftwerk was cutting track way before Gary.....

  • @ivegotamagicstix i know kraftwerk started off the synth-pop movement but it was until tubeway army, OMD and ultravox helped to get the ball moveing

  • @ivegotamagicstix Silver Apples before even them. But the Brits brought out the sexiness when it came to synths. Kraftwerk were new-looking, interesting, quirky, tried to look different but they had no sex appeal at all. Which was fine for a while, and then the synth business needed some shaking up. That's why Gary Numan and John Foxx must be thanked.

  • @SuperSonicAnime19 Guns and roses...new stuff?.....Yeah...OK

  • @SuperSonicAnime19 Change schools !! ; )

  • @nobbilc i only got 2 more years i can last also its fun playing my stuff and annoying them the teachers just say good music

  • numan is god. class

  • this song is soooo signature numan... simple, slow, deep, dark, and ultimate cool. you can't help but move to this. EPIC! numan forver!

  • love

  • Best song off the album - love this live too recently!

  • if this song hasn't been sampled in a hip-hop song (like certain other Numan songs), then it's a damn shame b/c it should be -- the beat is SICK.

  • @tsartodd I hate you.

  • i bought this album in 79,I was 13 yrs old-I had never heard anything like it, still think its fucking brilliant, and agree that its a shame that the newer stuff just not as good. His first three albums were excellent,I have always hoped for a return to that same sound.

  • @diggerwor ehhh i am also born 1966 but i think i was 15 if i bought it...

gary numan the first albums i bought in my life...

greetings from nuernberg germany a friend of this times...

    soul greets...gary g.h.josef

  • @diggerwor And there's still not a great deal of music that much like it.

  • What the fuck is 'good ass shit'. I mean, have a look at your description.

  • Ain't it a shame this mother fucker can't write songs these days? This is some good ass shit! His newer work fucking sucks!

  • Such great beginnings why didn't his compositional style grow? Nin nails guitars and rythms do not growth make.He is sexier but still seems uncomfortable on stage.Just wish he would show some progress. And why so dark after all these years no joy.He is still wealthy -be honest.Depeche Mode was always writing about where they were .He says he is too in interviews.Oh.???

  • Great song! Minimalist at its best.

  • stop drop and roll

  • i honestly hate the 80's and 90% of electro/new wave bands but gary numan is defidently in that 10% of new wave bands that makes electro just beyond amazing

  • @QueenetBowie this was 70's

  • @6headstereo I'm speaking in general, I suppose I was referring to Cars really

  • Can't we just discuss and listen to this song without bringing up, Jagged? I've been a Numan fan since 1979 and I defaintly don't like it, and don't think it deserves to be mentioned on the same topic as Replicas, so please shut up about it.

  • ♥

  • For the record, in Blade Runner they were referred to as replicants, not replicas.

This is a great song. Haven't listened to Gary Numan in many a decade, but I'm going to track down this album for sure!

  • The term replicas was not used in the short story of Blade runner only in the movie

But the film came 3 years earlier, so did Numan already have the filmplot before?

    OH MY GOD!!!!!

  • In the booklet to the Replicas Redux it said something about Numan reading the book and using it as an influence.

  • all numan is perfect, dude! don't you get it how dare you . you must be a pup .

  • Actually no. it's not perfect. Maybe everything up to Metal Rhythm, but Numan has'nt had an album worth a shit since 1988. He needs to pull himself together and stop trying to mock bands who he influenced like NIN and Skinny Puppy.

  • numan is pretty perfect, and precise in what he does, ive known that since 78, so that makes you a clueless homo..,thanks and goodnight, no offence!.

  • The clueless one is you, and Numan whois stuck in time.

Jagged has only sold 12,000 copies since 2006. WOW. For something sooo perfect and precise, why can't it sell? Becuase it is a piece of fucking shit.

  • This song was based on BladeRunner. Before it was a film, it was a book. Numan had some of the best ideas in the 80's and 70's when it came to lyrics.

  • Yes indeed.

  • @CrashandBurnTwitch

Actually, a short story 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep'

  • For some reason I can hear bits of Klaus Schulze's Cyborg in this. Sounds nothing like it!

  • great song

  • love this song.

  • This will probally be played live on the shows coming up, i don't doubt it but I don't know to be honest.

  • This was the earlier stuff, the better days before that Pure/jagged junk.
