  • It's so awesome! :) This is the best Korean movie I've seen so far. :) Love this movie so much!

  • In 2010 , Thai Military open fire to Thai people at Bangkok , People fight for Democracy

  • The little boy at the end is an amazing actor. O_o

  • O M G I found it streaming as a freebie on ( Movies Ace . c0m )

  • You know what's amazing? There are still Koreans who believe in the BS Chun Doo Hwan spread (that Gwangju democratic movement was a communist rebellion) and calls people who died in this horrendous tragedy a "filthy red". People like that are really what I consider a waste of space in Korea. And the country's already tiny to begin with. Can't we teleport these people to 1950's United States so that they can go play with McCarthy?

  • nice

  • fortunatly the Vietcong crashed the animal Polpot, so Cambodian people rescued by Vietcongs and also the Vietnames army stopped the Chinese in 1979 :)

  • 병신새꺄 스포일러를 대놓고해놓네.

아직 이 영화 보지도 못한 외국인들 좋아라하겠다 븅신새끼

  • Jeon Du-hwan(전두환) the dictator and murderer still live in now.

  • I think you're wrong. I'm just speaking my part of opinion here. But I don't think what park jung hee would do matter anyways cuz as of the present day korea is prospering. Killing thouands of INNOCENT people (for watever reason) isn't wat life is.

  • Oh yeah? Why don't you worship Pol Pot?

    You fascist stupid?

  • actually in that case I support the Vienamese instead the animal Polpot, but Korea is a different case, general Park built up Korea from tha ashes you should be thankful to him and his team :)

  • You really don't find the fact that such a movie, which elicits emotions that are favorable to both Roh and UNDP, came out so close to the Presidental elections (which now seems like a one man race) ODD?? I think your lack of common sense is more outrageous than anything. And no I wasn't using the word 'left' in any derogatroy way.

  • Do you want whole movie industry of south korea to be subjugated to the benefits of the GNP?

If you are thinking that the word 'left' is a label that can be attached to the Roh and UNDP in a descriptively adequate sense, then you have consumed too much of GNP propaganda, though you may vehemently claim otherwise, and have effectively lost all sense in even the most basic ideas in political science.

  • How is the whole movie industry even remotely subjugated to the GNP? And I use the word 'left' and 'right' in order to tell apart the UNDP and the GNP, not as a complete description of either parties. Shall I explain the intricate differences in politics, both social and economical, between the two parties on a freaking video reply?

  • And I love how you are assuming that I am some GNP loyalist, blinded by the ideologies of the conservative mind-frame of Korea, when in fact you have no clue on where I stand politically regarding the upcoming election.

  • Unless one is very much of a GNP loyalist or some sort of conservative, i hardly see any reason why anyone would call that Roh and his lackely, the remnants of the Uri party left.

    This hardly needs any clarification.

  • I don't know if you attended school, but the word 'left' is a word used to describe, not ridicule, those on the left side of the political spectrum. I think you for some reason are making inadaquate implications to words such as "commies" when you hear the word left. There is always a left and a right in politics, in the US the democrats are considered the left and the GOP the right.

  • You seem to be taking the word 'pejorative' in a very different sense than i inteded it to be understood. Yes, 'left' is a descriptive term and not a derogatory label, however, the last thing anyone who had lived in korea throught roh's rule would do is to label him as being 'left'. What part of their political ideology or economic policy do you find so...left...

  • Are you kidding? Are you even Korean? You don't see how Roh and his policies can be labeled left? Do you even read the Korean news papers, or perhaps global/political magazines? The fact that you are even asking me why Roh should be labeled 'left' says all that I need to know about you.

  • Thee feeling is reciprocal. I presume your sense of political spectrum have become very much distorted living in United States. I can't see you as someone who have set foot in korea for last 20 or so years.

  • Unfortunately for you I was there a year ago, perhaps it is you, living in Afghanistan, that is out of touch with reality and Korea. But why would you be in the first place, because I honestly don't believe you are Korean..well least not South Korean.

  • I am not in Afghanistan, that is just a mistake. I did not wish to scroll down in order to properly select the appropriate country. May I ask how old you are???

  • Why would you need to know how old I am? Why would you call me too young if I said 19? Or would you call me too old and out of touch if I told you 60? How is that questiong even relevant?

  • Well, simply out of curiosity. It is perfectly fine if you do not want to provide that piece of information of course.

  • I really rather not, I don't see how that is relevant in anyway..and to be quite honest it is very wierd that you would ask such a question.

  • Yes it is very weird of course. I was simply presuming that this information could not be represented in two digits with decimal system.

  • ok...well this 'debate' really isn't going anywhere since both of us are deeply rooted in our opinions and beliefs, and a video reply section on youtube really isn't the adaquate place to have this kind of talk so I think we are done here.

  • And unlike your beliefs, my political scope isn't clouded by American beliefs and morals, I have lived in numerous countries in various continents and have seen and experienced multitudes of political regimes.

  • Roh and the remnants of the uri party might have taken advantage of the film somehow however, whoever that made the movie is free to release it anytime they choose! Are you claiming that they should somehow prevented from pursuing their economic gain because the consequent proves somewhat less than favourable to you?

  • It is a free country, so they made do whatever they choose to. But am I as a person not allow to question the judgement of these film makers? Deciding to release a movie, that can and has been used to the ruling party's advantage, so close to the election?

  • If Roh and his lackeys use the film to their advantage that is very unfortunate. Still, that adds to no evidence that the film's content, release date etc was deliberately designed in order to profit the ruling party. That is a completely different claim. Therefor, I see your comment that this is a 'communist propaganda' highly inaccurate.

  • Perhaps it was extreme of me to say the words "communist propaganda" but the release date and the material instilled in the movie is very questionable, especially so close to the election. And if you are someone that needs exact evidence that the producers of the movie desired the release date to be nearer the election period, in order to even think about the possible hidden agendas of the movie, than you clearly need to hone your ability to reason and look beyond what is obvious.

  • I am purely speculating, but I think it should be pretty clear that the director has some sort of political bias and perhaps an agenda. Kinda like Micheal Moore with his 9/11 movie before the 2004 US elections ( I don't like Bush, but I thought the release date for such a movie was inappropriate).

  • I think it is important to convey the disastrous happenings of May 18 and send the message that such thing should never happen again. BUT it is clear with the release date so close to the presidental elections, that this is merely a communist propaganda.

  • Then when did you want it to be released???

I did not believe that anyone would actually buy into that nonsense generated by Grand National Party Hannara.

  • Um GNP never said anything about this movie, in fact Park Geun Hye went to see the film out of respect for the people who were killed in that massacre, so I propose you read a bit more before speaking. But if you really think this movie wasn't somehow used by the Left in order to conjure up emotional appeal to the Korean public (which isn't even interested in the left as seen by the 15% voter turn out for the UNDP primaries) then you obviously don't have much common sense.

  • Well, if it conjured up such emotions, then let it be! but claiming that the release date of the movie was motivated by such political aims I feel is quite farfetched.

More outrageous is that you would label this film as a 'communist proppaganda'.

Also, I would presume that you are using the word 'left' in a pejorative sense at most.

  • omg that kid crying at the end is the best crying i've seen in any actor. that alone deserves some kind of award.

  • This show is about the Gwangju massacre.. it is a sad movie~

  • Dude im in korea!

    I saw it!!

    I am a man!

but i cried... it is worth it.. I wanna buy it too

  • Wow!! I agree. This movie is going to be an Awesome and very emotional movie to watch.

  • It's gonna be awesome movie!
