  • God I would ask why this clowns on here so much but I realized hes a douchenozzle that cant get laid.

  • The werewolf cracker was supposed to be an injin? LoL. They both look equally caucasoidal.

  • @PrimeConsciousness I was referring to who the actor is.

  • @MaoistRebelNews2 I'm shocked a Maoist such as yourself could stand to sit through 10 minutes of that bourgeoisie Twilight culture fuck. Hollywood and the entire western media is a decadent parasite that should be surgically removed. It takes a Marxist dialectic to recognize the iniquity and a compassionless Fascist boot to eradicate it.

  • @PrimeConsciousness It was difficult, but video content is video content. We have to see the crap around us in order to criticize it.

  • Marxist, especially Maoist, on a matter of principal do not speak on a subject they haven't thoroughly researched. If I can recall, comrade Mao Zedong placed great emphasis on this in his work "Oppose Book Worship." I know that he stressed this over and over again but I can't specifically remember in which work he first said it.

...This would mean that you've watched all the Twilight films. Or worse, read all the books! How embarrassing... :] Fun video though, thumbs up!

    Solidarity!

  • @Littlepinky

So? Who are you to represent all women?

  • communists are gay

  • @mrhatish Oooo that's so macho of you. What is this 1980?

  • get on skype

  • his family for houndreds of years gatta rember possbly longer

  • Well, you must understand, bella is a feminist to women. Women think girls from sex in the city are strong. To women, bella is a girl trying to fix herself after a terrible traumatic event and struggling with life. Plus, she is the embodiment of teenage girl perspective romance

  • @lovingsingleton As a feminist woman she isn't a feminist. She's pretty pathetic. She doesn't have any emotions and I saw the first two on cable and she treats her friends like crap and only thinks about herself. Only thing right is about the teenage girls and that "romance."

  • Thjere is no Marxist message to Twilight! The author never WROTE a Marxist theme to the subtext! Maoist Rebel is literally reading into what's not there. The saga, written by a Mormon author, pushes a Mormon doctrine by choosing a spouse to be eternally tied to.

  • It was inevitable that Bella chooses Edward. It always was. Meyer actually unconsciously posed the anti feminist and anti marxist agenda in her writing. Yet another dent in Marxism *sigh*

  • actually Twilight series are basically an extension of Stephenie Meyers lucid fantasies. In (some) womens dream worlds they like to feel that theres a man with absolute power over them yet loves them to death. And I dont think it was anti-feminist, a devilishly handsome wealthy polite man is every girls dream lol.

  • @yankydoodle83 Not mine. Now to have a polite man who cares about you is what I want. If he's rich that's great if not meh. Doesn't define my feelings for someone. If I like someone I'm going to like them. Money and all that stuff means crap to me. Of course I'm not a teenage girl....

  • MRN, i'm surprised you missed that the modern vampire myth is a relic of class war between the bourgeoisie and the aristocracy. In the trope setting 'Dracula' novel, the Count is a parasite on the hard working bourgeois. At the end of the story, the petty and grande bourgeois ally to destroy the aristocrat. 'Evil vampire' stories are bourgeois triumphalism. 'Good vampire' stories are bourgeois reconciliation with their role as exploitative ruling class.

  • @jacobvardy Yeah. In a lot of vampire stories it's like that but "Twilight" is just so far from the traditional vampire story it's ridiculous. Even if you don't look at the shimmering and no poofing into ash in the sunlight....

  • You're getting good at this Marxist film review thing.

  • @darksid007: And Capitalists drink the blood of the people! :))) At least in vampire movies it is pretty evident, but in reality they try to hide it from the masses with propaganda. It seems that, in the end, vampires and capitalists are much alike. :))

  • @Vict0r1984 It's similar with zombie movies. If you look at zombie movies and when they were written and look at what the social issues and struggles were of the day you can find them in the stories in someway.

  • Could do you a Marxist analysis of "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley?

  • i've read about the matrix has a marxist message to it, with the machines representing capitalism in that the humans (prolitariate) are no more than resources to make their 'lifestyle' possible and the humans representing the prolitariate working class rising up to defeat this system and liberate humanity from its capitalist enslavement. i agree with it, but what are your thoughts on this?

  • @theviralzombie Brendan Cooney did better than I could on that movie

  • @theviralzombie I have seen it only a few times. The cyrillic subtitles were incorrect sometimes. The message seems to show that the proletariet becomes a commodity.

  • Have you see or will you watch the movie, the Rise of the Planet of the Apes?

  • So, capitalist glitter in the sun?

  • I think the movie does not deserve a comparative analysis or ideological because the movie itself lacks depth is trite and boring.

  • Oh and in the "True Blood" show they have all sorts of different races of vampires and people. I thought you made lots of good points to understanding the book.

  • You should do "True Blood" aka the Sookie Stackhouse series. I'm in love with those. "Twilight" is a bunch of shit. I can't stand it. I tried the movies and was so bored and annoyed. I don't see how all my friends can like this (and I'm 29 so all my friends are in their 20's too).

  • uh... I had to pause at 2:16 to say 2 things.

    1) I suggest watching any movie in its entirety before doing a review/analysis and 2) please do more of these marxist pop culture analysis in the future. This is fucking fascinating... perhaps consider doing more of this in the future!

    now back to the show.

  • @HulkSmashPunyHumans If I did number 1, then I'd have to watch it. I don't want to do that. I'm goign to do Enemy at the Gates and Terminator 2.

  • @MaoistRebelNews2 yeah that's understandable I guess.

And Enemy at the Gates and T2 eh? I can't wait. Interesting side note my favorite papers to write in college were essays of almost exactly the type of what you are doing here. I got into analysing pop culture movies/tv shows that most people immediately wrote off as meaningless brain-candy (like Demolition Man to name one).

  • @HulkSmashPunyHumans Demolition Man that's one I should do.

  • @MaoistRebelNews2 Indeed it is. Lots of great angles for you to work with in that movie.

  • My favorite movies have always been Office Space and Watchmen. Which are more nihilistic then particularly pro-capitalist.

I see this class struggle in Twilight-lite known as True Blood too. Werewolves are white trash, where as vampires are like a mafia/aristocratic society. But if you look into the goth/vampiric culture, it's very reactionary and pro-social Darwinism. It's why I deviated greatly from the church of Satan.

  • You should take a look at Fritz Lang's Metropolis and give it a Marxist analysis. I think you would enjoy that movie.

  • Hahahaha - I know you usually don't agree with some of Trotsky's points on culture but lol, Twilight is the epitome of face value and shallow bourgeoisie "art"- proof that art in it's highest unbridled form has never been realized under capital. as for the racism in work, it's sooo obvious - the writer probably thought by making Jacob native american she was being all-embracing even when mormon retardation narrows native american to the lost tribes of IsraelOo

  • i dont know about you guys but ill take a zombie lenin or che guevara over those two any day

  • @eliwoood1 this is real this is brainwashing of the new generations and the fact you dont see that means its realy affective

  • One word 'Underworld' Knocks the shit out twilight, Guns, Lyans, Awesome clothing, shit blows up oh and Kate Beckinsale.

    I rest my case.

Plus in the third underworld the Lycans who are slaves at the time break free from the ruling class.

  • @eliwoood1 coming from the Everybody is Equal guy, this is rather bigoted.

  • This is going to be great.

  • why?

  • Yes we all know its a shitty movie. NO need to flood the commendts with that -.-. I did not watch the movie but this is a good simple analysis.

Capitalism can go fuck itself up its rotten ass.

  • click, pause, OK!

Before I even watch this, I have to say I was already laughing just at the PICTURE.

    hahaaaaaaaaa

  • @TFYFWYA I know, it was trollish

  • Taylor Lautner is of partial Native American descent Mexican mestizos are also of partial Native American descent, so I understand your confusion. Werewolves or wolf-man hybrids are a part of many cultures. Also, why does the folklore of one culture have to be confined to that particular culture. Do all vampires have to be Romanian?

  • i can't believe you did a review on this piece of shit.

I would challenge you to do a Marxist analysis on Metal Gear Solid Saga

  • Blade wasn't white and he was a Vampire!!! He was Black.

  • Marxist analysis of Twilight?

    (brain cells commit suicide)

Werewolves are not mexican, unless you count the Chewbakabra.

And Vampire's are not fucking emo Sparkly. Oh look, he SPAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRKLLEES!

    *blows brains out*

I'ma go watch the Hellsing Ova Anime so I can re-remember what real vampires look like.

  • @Microtardz Taylor Lautner is not of Mexican descent and why can't werewolves be Mexican?

  • @BaoJinKhan I thought he was partially Latino. And honestly, Idk. Every movie I remember seeing in my teens the Werewolves were white. Then again, that was a slightly worse time.

Honestly, I just don't like Twilight period. I rather don't know why I made it racey.....

  • @Microtardz The Chupacabra is Puerto Rican and is not a werewolf.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123 Still of latino/spanish descent if i'm not mistaken.

Looks like a werewolf to me..... Comes in a night, steals sheep... Uhh, seriously sounds werewolfish...

  • An interesting analysis. All popular culture has a political message to it. The more unintentional that message is the more powerful it is liable to be. What MRN says about this film is probably true, but then, imagine a movie that was pro-proletarian, anti-racist and pro-feminist. Would such a movie even be watchable? Is it not the case that reactionaries make the best movies?

  • @atticana Don't get me started on the reactionary nature of Enemy at the Gates

  • oh dear....

  • major props for tackling this.

  • @dwgthed I know I'm going to get so much shit or this.

  • @MaoistRebelNews2 I have a 14 year old cousin who'd get pissed with me if I ripped on Twilight, so I'm steering clear. BTW, hear you are planning on doing Enemy at the Gates, may I suggest you check out the movie Stalingrad too (really shows the depraved nature of the German army).

  • @dwgthed I value your advice, I shall do so.

  • (looks at title)

    oh god

    lol

  • I'd think the main Mormon element in the book would be abstinence.

  • very good analyis could you possibly do the hunger games

  • lol why so much hate?

  • Love your analysis. I agree, "Twilight" is crap and it's subconsciously giving teens a really shitty message about love, class, the gender binary, etc.

  • A very good analysis and yeah i did notice the anti-feminist aspect to the franchise itself, the racist and classist aspects i never thought of before. Again a very good analysis and I wanna hear your thoughts on the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise especially the cartoons and how the sexes relate to each other and also the racial aspect (Knuckles the Echidna for example)

  • @AngryPunkPixie Actually I don't know anything about it. But I could learn. I just chose Twilight because it was such a pop culture phenomenon.

  • The Twilight Saga is a brain dead pile of shit, theres no message in there.

  • @CaptainLecher Except that there are messages. Whether intentional or not, there are messages in everything. He made some points. The Twilight Saga is a load of chimp testes, sure, but everyone says that. People hate Twilight now to fit in. lol. Just let it go.

  • @CaptainLecher...thanks for confirming my thoughts...somewhat. I've never seen any of it. In fact, I thought this vid was of a different nature. What do I know.... ;)

    D

  • @CaptainLecher It's sad when even your main star hates it. Robert Pattison hasn't been shy about how much he finds the whole thing annoying.
