As someone who has traveled all over the US, and has a good concept of regional dialects, I completely agree, you have a midwestern neutral accent however the funny irony is that someone from North Dakota, Wisconsin or Minnesota would insist that THEY have the neutral accent and that YOU have a southern accent.

this is like the epitome of an AMERICAN's accent. it's not quite neutral but very close, it sounds really patriotic to me.. haha i'd imagine uncle sam speaking like you. :)

Thanks. I've always thought that Uncle Sam would sound more like John Wayne, or something from one of the more stereotypical western films.
