He certainly experienced life and tried to share that experience with all he came in contact with. It would be well for any who study to study his life and words...

@Hypatiarhetoric, Even when practicing it's my philosophy to allow technique to be something of artistic value rather than simply viewing it as a means to an end. And you're right, the whole point of me posting this clip of Rubinstein is because I see far too many idiots who know nothing of what it is to be a real artist. Truly deplorable when such ignorance runs around rampantly through the minds of students (and even established performers!). They are nothing more than musical parrots.
