  • impressive, so far my fav grindhouse fake.

  • Very impressive! Outstanding job!

  • well done---truly KICK ASS!!

  • nice grindhouse film man you are good at this

  • all these fuckin fake 1970 movies only real losers watch them. the real people who be down watch the original ones this was too fuckin stupid!fake grain and film scratches! get a life mutha fucka or use a damn bell and howell super 8! hahahahahaha!

  • I don't know who won this contest from 2007, but damn that was good.

  • great trailer i like the how u did it came out good great work

  • "a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"-2nd amendment, U.S. constitution, bill of rights

When evil comes-a-knockin', ya better be-a-packin'!

  • what program and which effect did you use to put that 70s movie effect?

  • Bookmarked. This is excellent! and I've seen all the others.

  • Bookmarked. This is excellent!

  • Great job!

  • Wow, that was great! Hope someone picks up on this and funds a full feature.

  • "shes been a woman ever since she was a kid"" nice refrence to grindhouse's Trouble man. 5/5

  • The car blowing up looked awesome. Good job

  • wow !!!!!

  • Very nice!

  • HQ version is great.

  • I want to see hobo with a shotgun and this one soooo bad lol

  • This wins based on the name alone!

  • Far out! This is great, possibly the best of the entries I've seen!

  • nice troubleman reference

  • The quality of the video upload makes it unwatchable!

  • It is supposed to look like that, it's grindhouse, like from the 70's old films. The high def version is too large for you tube. there is a little clearer version on the space.

  • I know what grindhouse is supposed to look like with the grain and film scratches, but this looks like an issue with the quality of the conversion to whatever format was used to upload to youtube.

  • click in HQ, idiot!

  • Is that Hellbound Hearse playing?

  • This better be a real film, man! It's too good to just be a contest entry!

  • you should totally make a movie out of this

im not saying full length but a good 30-45 minutes

  • Very Nice. I remember this one now. I dug the hell out of it.

  • PRETTY cool

    sounds are great!!

  • Everytime i watch this it gets better....I really love the mouth on the TV its great.

  • wow that was pretty sween a lot better than most of the sxsw entries id have to say you did a great job capturing grindhouse spirit \m/

  • haha thats insane, nice.

  • wow! that was great! loved it!

can I ask where you got the 70's sound effects from? music, ambience, etc.

  • holy crap, this was better than Dead Noon! And for a lower budget. This trailer was on par with the Rodriguez Planet Terror trailer.

  • love this one lots my fave so far i think

  • Awesome!!!!

  • wow these trailer actully surprsinly good for the budget

  • Man, you should have been put into the top 3!

  • being into film making aswell( doing a grindhouse trailer and 70s theme for film class) i LOVED this. I would love to work and be a part of that madness!!

  • I watch this at least three times a day, it just gets me pumped. I'm curious though, how'd you manage the car explosion effect? Considering the budget, you obviously have some sweet skill to share with the masses.

  • Thanks everyone. Totally thrilled that people are still checking out Stormtroopers. The car effect was two fold: on the day of, I had a car approach Minh (AKA "Bad Momma") very slowly and had her crouch down in slow motion as I followed her up with the camera. Then in post, I sped up the footage and had my buddy Mike Oliver animate a CG car flying over her head with some debris. I then composited it all together and added an explosion layer, and poof. Car goes kaplooey.

  • not bad at all. pretty sweet effect for such a low budget

  • Definitely one of the best submissions.

  • I love how the slap bass randomly comes in during the murder at the beginning then it suddenly changes to horror-movie music. Perfect!

  • This one should have beaten "Maiden Of Death"

  • very awesome, great job

  • This one is so much fun. Great job!

  • I'm completely surprised by this contest! So many amazing people rose to the occasion! Once again, a brilliant trailer!

  • It was under $500 when all was said and done. Most of it was spent on wardrobe, props and a gallon of blood. Maybe some food here and there, but it was pretty tight. I shot it in 3 days and 1 night, and edited it in about the same time (3.5 days). So it was roughly one week from start to finish. Thanks everyone for all the props!

  • pretty f-in cool man. Definitely hit the right notes.

  • this is about as cool as the trailer for Grindhouse itself!

  • Very cool!

btw, what was your budget? Just curious. :)

  • This is without a doubt one of the most awesome things that I have ever seen.

    Ever.

  • wow! that was great!!

  • YEAH!!! That was AWESOME!!!

  • This trailer is f*cking awesome! I'd pay to see the actual film. Houston's filmmakers don't get near enough credit, thanks for showing the net what we're capable of here (and that we're not all simply cowboys with a crappy football team). Absolutely badass!

  • this is amazing! best 1 i've seen yet!

    ~lorena

  • H-Town film represent!!!

  • I'll second that!
