I passed the aptitude test with flying colors, the physical was fine, was told I was an Above Average applicant. I was placed in line to get in before the average. Luck would have it that not 3 weeks after I applied I hit a tree with my ATV and destroyed my knee. Had 50% of both meniscus removed, 70% of my ACL was torn, that was it for me

@AccuracybyVolume91 Mhmm, keep telling yourself that. I was told I couldn't join because I damaged my knee which will hinder my performance, it was sad, no doubt. But this made me go to College, maintain a high GPA and head towards being a Paramedic. Something that'll last me a lifetime with a high wage (32.50 to start) that'll go up as the years go by. This is a good thing because now I have a good job for life, as oppose to having to restart my life after 5-10 years of service in the Military.
@sacr3 Video games? Actually I went in because even with scholarships I couldn't afford to go to any of the colleges I applied to and the military provides a lot of security and a huge sense of accomplishment and of course builds character and respect. That's why a lot of young ppl sign up. Even if I do leave when my contract is up I'll have a huge variety of options in civilian life with my experience and training. Change and growth is good. Same life forever is a lot scarier to me.
@sacr3 Sorry about your knee though. They're really wary of those kinds of injuries though. They would want at least a year to pass with no problems before they considered ignoring an injury like that. They almost didn't let me in because I had a history of migraines, but hadn't had them in 10 months so they let it slide after about a billion tests.

Pat Sajak is not the one telling them their answers are incorrect. There are judges that he asks if it can be accepted. If you pay close attention you'll notice him look towards their direction and wait for a response and I believe he also mentions briefly that the judges say he can't accept the mispronunciation. If I'm correct I believe most if not all game shows have judges. For example Family Feud and Jeopardy so when the hosts are unsure they refer to them. Just saying. Happy Holidays all :)

@AccuracybyVolume91 Ah I see, than my mistake. I applied for the Military and I only had my Grade 11 at the time, I applied for an "Armored Soldier" position. I passed the aptitude test with flying colors, the physical was fine, was told I was an Above Average applicant. I was placed in line to get in before the average. Luck would have it that not 3 weeks after I applied I hit a tree with my ATV and destroyed my knee. Had 50% of both meniscus removed, 70% of my ACL was torn, that was it for me

@AccuracybyVolume91 Mhmm, keep telling yourself that. I was told I couldn't join because I damaged my knee which will hinder my performance, it was sad, no doubt. But this made me go to College, maintain a high GPA and head towards being a Paramedic. Something that'll last me a lifetime with a high wage (32.50 to start) that'll go up as the years go by. This is a good thing because now I have a good job for life, as oppose to having to restart my life after 5-10 years of service in the Military.

Actually I went in because even with scholarships I couldn't afford to go to any of the colleges I applied to and the military provides a lot of security and a huge sense of accomplishment and of course builds character and respect. That's why a lot of young ppl sign up. Even if I do leave when my contract is up I'll have a huge variety of options in civilian life with my experience and training. Change and growth is good. Same life forever is a lot scarier to me.

@sacr3 Sorry about your knee though. They're really wary of those kinds of injuries though. They would want at least a year to pass with no problems before they considered ignoring an injury like that. They almost didn't let me in because I had a history of migraines, but hadn't had them in 10 months so they let it slide after about a billion tests.

Pat Sajak is not the one telling them their answers are incorrect. There are judges that he asks if it can be accepted. If you pay close attention you'll notice him look towards their direction and wait for a response and I believe he also mentions briefly that the judges say he can't accept the mispronunciation. If I'm correct I believe most if not all game shows have judges. For example Family Feud and Jeopardy so when the hosts are unsure they refer to them. Just saying. Happy Holidays all :)
