@BxChloex Sure, The boy fell in the pool and drowed. He almost died. The hospital is represnting purgertory. The exit represnt heaven. The "Things" chasing the boy are trying to keep him alive. Which is why 1 is his mother who is giving him CPR in the real world. She saves his life so he doesnt die/go to heaven/leave out the exsit~ I hope I helped~!

my friend explained it to me this way. The kid was trying to get to the exit but was pulled back by demonic monsters. The exit was a light at the end of a tunnel. It was paradise after death. So then what were the monsters? being alive is represented by demonic monsters? makes you think.

@FromJennyxx I like your way of looking at it. I kind of saw the hospital as the afterlife or "limbo" and the exit was death. The people that make it to the exit die and the ones that get eaten are saved; however the people that can't find the exit AND don't get caught end up being stuck in "limbo" forever. This episode is a pretty good demonstration of what we stereotypically picture the afterlife to be like along with some really creative metaphors.

The kid is in a kind of "limbo", the creatures and darkness that hunts him are a representation of life (after all life is har right?). Because his mother sabes him from drowning he comes back to life unabeling him to die.
