It is not bad to farm for the hearts. This game looks enjoyable; I just have to have patience. Falling from the platforms is common. I just keep practicing.
@Camuseiya That's the wrong room. The orange pool just restores health. The room you want has white blocks surrounding it. Look at part 7 of this Let's play again, but to be more exact than my last comment, skip to 8:08. Not 8:08 of THIS part, but of part 7. That's the type of room you're looking for.
@Camuseiya The eggplant wizard is the biggest asshole in the game XD. If you get hit and turned into an eggplant, there are only two ways to recover. Either kill yourself and start over, or go to the recovery room inside the dungeon. Each dungeon has a recovery room which doesn't normally do anything, but if you go there while an eggplant, a nurse will remove the curse and turn you back to normal. (skip to 7:07 of Part 7 to see what I'm talking about)
@Camuseiya Continued from previous comment: There are two types of potions in the store. One simply refills some of your life right then and there, and the other one is a reviving item. The revive item looks more like a water bottle, and the one that heals you right then and there looks more like a tall wine glass.
@Camuseiya One of three things could have happened. a) If you fell down a pit and died that way, it won't revive you. b), It's not like Ocarina of time where you see a death animation, and then get revived. With the potions, when you lose all of your life, it simply refills one unit of your health bar, without any animation or sound effect. If you had a potion, and you saw a death animation, that means you had already used it, and not noticed. c) you bought the wrong potion item.
