  • thank you it's really helpful

  • is this the one you can use to cover the cake?

  • @kkuhry75 yes

  • what is that yellow thinks the vegetable...? sorry but I can't understand sometime what you said...

  • What kind of sugar was that? sorry I can't really understand what you said.. btw very informative! =)

  • @pinkthingz18 We use confectioner's sugar (or white powdered sugar).

  • can u put colouring to colour the fondont when u melt the marshmelo so as red or green or blue pls replay I need to know :)

  • @tjtb92001 Yes, you can add it when you melt the marshmallows. In the video, we show you when the right time is to add the dye.

  • You ladies make it look easy :) Going to give this a go :)

  • what flavor be good for red velvet?

  • @itsRinRIn We would recommend a buttercream frosting for red velvet.

  • this was the best way to explain it,did you guys actually use the blue fondant you made it wasnt blue when you were rolling it?

  • Awesome, you made this super easy to understand!! I just made a two cakes and fondant would be perfect for them!! I'll just have my mom pick up some marshmallows!! Thank you soo much!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved it :*

  • I wonder who thought "Hmmm marshmallows aren't sweet enough. ADD ALL THE POWDERED SUGAR!"

  • can you use butter instead of vegetable shorting???

  • @littlejellybean100 Yes, however, we've found that the vegetable shortening works better.

  • Also, the reason they have trouble coloring the fondant after its made is because they use food coloring... This will absolutely ruin you fondant. The consistency of the die is to "runny" and will make the fondant sticky. Instead I would recommend using a die specifically made for cake decorating, its more of a paste and is highly concentrated. Hope this helps.

  • @jamielynhughes Actually, there's nothing wrong with our fondant when we use the food coloring. It's just time consuming, but it doesn't make it sticky. The heat from your hands will make it sticky, but there is nothing wrong with using food dye. The cake decorating paste is awesome, but much more expensive.

  • with 2 lbs of POWDERED SUGAR ( you cant use flour or granulated) you must make sure that you have 16 oz. of marshmellows!!!!

  • how many marshmallows do i use?

  • @InAshesTheyShallReap Use a full 16 oz. bag of marshmallows.

  • I put my fondant in the refrigerator and it did not sweat...

  • thank you for showing how to make this using stove top I don't have microwave at home and I am just starting to learn cake decorations most of the tutorials for MMF are using microwave :) one question whats the ingredients for the rice crispies? thanks so much!

  • @stademonyita The ingredients for rice krispies are the cereal and marshmallows. (The directions are in the cereal box).

  • Hi, Do you always need to add marsh mellow into the mix?

  • mine is way to elasticy. how much powdered sugar should I use? if I roll it out it sticks n tears. I poured alot of sugar onto the surface but it still sticks or once its kn the rolling. pin sticks.togethef. :*(

  • @curlysue316 We usually lay out an entire bag of powdered sugar before we place the marshmallows on top. Use more sugar in the mix. It's important to keep it from being too sticky. Hope this helps.

  • @MichEllieCakes what happens if we use normal sugar granulated sugar

  • This would help me so much if you could answer this! I noticed that you have bloue fondant. Do you make it like you would with white then add food coloring to it? And also will this fondant work with red velvet cake? Please answer these questions!! :)

  • @zebracash75 Yes, you make it exactly the same way and add the food coloring you want when the marshmallows are almost melted. It will work on red velvet cake.

  • @MichEllieCakes or flour

  • @david19957 I'm not sure either would work. Flour, maybe, but it wouldn't taste so great. Regular sugar would not work because of the consistency.

  • This would really help if you would anwser back! Will this work if you would to put it ontop of a tres leches cake?

  • @mrodz123 We are not sure if it will work on tres leches...we haven't tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

  • Thanks very much for this video. I made up some fondant using your instructions and it turned out great! And I can actually eat it :) It doesn't take much time either. Thank you.

  • how long will it keep after its made?

  • @em0lovs0ya2 It can keep for awhile. Keep it wrapped and zip-locked and it should keep for at least a week. If you refrigerate it, you may be able to work with it long after that as well...we haven't really tried the refrigeration part yet.

  • We have no idea about using the icing sugar to make the fondant into dough...sorry.

  • can we use icing sugar to make the fondant into the dough?

  • I don't think it will work...you need the consistency of the shortening. We haven't tried it, but the oil will probably water down the fondant.

  • how about vegetable oil?? as a substitute for the shortening??

  • We usually use a full bag of the confectioners sugar. You have to lay enough out on the sheet for it to be under all of the melted marshmallows. Also you may need to add some while you're folding the marshmallow into the sugar.

  • how much sugar r u supposed to use

  • We've never tried substituting butter for shortening, but I wouldn't recommend it. It would probably change the consistency of the fondant too much. If your reasoning is for taste, Crisco makes a butter flavored shortening. We've used it before and it's good. As far as the fridge goes, if the cake is already covered, it will be fine. It may sweat a little though. The taste will not be affected. Just make sure to let it get to room temperature before you serve it.

  • hi can i substitute shortning withe butter and if can't put the fondant in the fridge how abut after i make the cake i need to put it in the fridge is't gonna be OK

  • It hardens pretty quickly...we'd give it at least 10-15 minutes after you've worked with it for it to re-harden.

  • does it harden if you already made it and the fondont is out for like 5-10 mins after???
