Actually, Jeremy Brett married twice. Divorced once, and sadly lost his second wife.
You should try Wikipedia sometime. As for Sherlock Holmes, he was a fictional character very much brought to life on paper by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and on stage and screen by the late Mr. Brett. Jeremy's portrayal of the character was, in my opinion, the best we'll ever see.
Only completely unfeeling women wouldn't be touched by the chance of lying in Sherlock's arms and find there nothing then safety and protection. But how mysterious it must be to look into his eyes and to feel his lips on your own...
Here's a quote from Conan Doyle's Holmes: "... Love is an emotional thing, and whatever is emotional is opposed to that true cold reason which I place above all things. I should never marry myself, lest I bias my judgment." (From The Sign of Four, last page, after Watson announces his engagement.) But I say there's nothing to stop us women who love JB's Sherlock from dreaming of healing his perpetual loneliness (and also our own) through love. A beautiful video, thank you!
Geezus!.. Personally, I love the 'character' of Sherlock, but I 'miss' the absolute gent that 'actually was' Jeremy. Sorry, maybe it's just me, but I'm something of a realist. I can't miss things that were never here, only flesh and blood gets anything like a pang from me. But that's obviously just weird little old me?. Go figure.. J
the song is " i want to spend my life loving you" its the sound track of the movie mask of zorro. actually jeremy brett left his wife for a man in between his career went into depression in trying to be the best sherlock holmes ever which is unquestionably true and then married his second wife who passed away shortly before his demise.he was not single all his life as many mistake but he was and still is the best ever sherlock holmes ever... ! love the man he breathed life into this character !
Thank you! Ah, one more question: why did you choose that music? Because you loved it, or because you thought it was the most suitable for the video, or because of another reason? (your music really fits JB)
the final problem, abbey grange, the speckled band, the second stain, the copper beaches, the empty house, the solitary cyclist, the Greek interpreter, a scandal in Bohemia, silver blaze, the red headed league, the naval treaty, the red circle. But not in this order.:D
I'm sure Sherlock Holmes would have many a caustic comment to this, along the lines of 'it's like trying to work a love story or an elopement in the fifth theorem of Euclid!'
..p.s I take it you meant Jeremy. As Holmes is not really much missed and cherished (as he wasn't real, opposed to dear old Brett).. Not meaning to be a prig or so, just can't see how you would be thinking he 'remained single all his life'??.. J
I would like to thank you prcntcocaine, and anyone else who posts anything of the late great wonderful Mr Brett, but would also like to point out that he didn't remain single all his life. He in fact had two wives, the second of which, his Joanie, died not that long before sadly he himself left us.. Jr
Yeah I did wonder that myself after staring ages up at it. Well they can be thankful that I didn't have my nice new zoom camera with me. There's always a next time though... *cheeky grin*
Yes, I was in Clapham Common. It's a pretty place and very active. Lots of people and dogs out in the sun... just like that says "Mad dogs and Englishmen. Go out in the midday sun" *laughs*, though it wasn't midday when I got there more like 2pm. Hope you manage to make it over here sometime. :)
I find it horribly ironic that Jeremy played the part of someone who died but appeared to come back from the dead (in the second Series). Shame he can't actually do so isn't it? I was standing outside his once home yesterday. At times it felt like he was there.
Really, really well-made video, it's excellent. The song is not my favorite, but the way you put the whole thing together made me love it anyway. That and the lovely JB. Ahh, words can't describe him.
You know I just realized something. Not only do I love SH, but I love "House", and the Wilson-House relationship is very much based upon the Watson-Holmes archetype... I know thats a bit of an aside, but it just really hit me!! Even the names are similar... hmmmmm...
LOL... its a good show... probably available on DVD worldwide soon... it is here in the US. House is great, so much like Sherlock - a troubled curt and sarcastic genius with an addiction that cannot truly be seperated from his vast intuitive sense... hope you do get to see it one day.
you are actually right xD one of the persons the have maked the show "house m.d." is a huge sherlock holmes-fan himself so he used sherlock holmes as a "rolemodel"for house
I adore your videos. I´m dying to do my own SH vids. Mean while I´m larning from masters. I love this song in English or Spanish. "Pasaré el resto de mi vida amándote".

Dito - Vale JB. An amazing talent cut short too soon.
Waiting on Good Soldier dvds and the Bloodlines ep as well
I guess if one has to have an obsession there is no worthier subject than the exceptional Jeremy Brett
Thanks for the posting
If I knew how to do these things I'd do a JB clip to Mr Mysterious - would be a great song for his mysterious alterego SH

I think you are forgetting that Holmes and Watson were obvious lovers. Read the canon.

Uh!?.. How can a fictitious character be missed by many people?. He was never ever around in this world to be missed by anyone!.
Jeremy Brett on the other hand IS missed by many people, and WAS around in this world to be missed!, very much so!!... ???
DistantSon 2 years ago
even is he is not a real person he can still be missed
there are many fictive persons who are missed and sherlock holmes is one of them
crimelovergirl 2 years ago 2
I take your point, although I personally tend to miss those who were actually here.
DistantSon 2 years ago
He (Sherlock) is missed in the way that there are no more stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle about him.

this song is a little bit too romantic for Holmes.....the same kind of romanticism he would scold Watson for including in the stories.
