Actually the song was written by Jeff Martin, Mike Onesko, and Kier Staelheli. The other three guys in Racer X had nothing to do with it really, except for the solos and such.

try to figure it out from watchhing the video, then you can both learn how to lay the song and it'll be a good exercise in using relative pitch and training your ear.

He really can't. He learned those chords just for the show. If you watch the very last chord to end the song, you'll see him carefully place his fingers in position long before he strums. Jeff is a great drummer of course, from Badlands with Jake E Lee, Michael Schenker, UFO..etc.
