A very disappointing wine for the Great Chateau. Everything else is in place - botrytis, oak, concentration, body (on the fat, but firm side), balance, but and it's a BIG but, a taste, and especially an aroma of rot in the background (gray rot) ruins this wine as an Yquem. My suggestion is to either serve VERY cold, or gift to a wine non-connoisseur. On the upside, it wasn't that expensive (relatively speaking, at least), and now we know why, unfortunately.
