I was going to write something about how this is obviously fake. But seeing how many people religiously believe this is 100% real (which even the farmer admits it isn't) ....

@froo13 look. I am a professional artist. My work is similar to this one, and I am very sure that to make a Mona Lisa this size takes about one month or more. I can explain you what are the signs which can uncover the fact that this vid is fake.

I’m glad this sheep herding video has captured a lot of people’s attention. I like the narrator’s last words “ that’s art made out of sheep and dogs.” The participation comes from the farmers working together to coordinate with the dogs where they want the sheep to go. I think this gets so many peoples attention because they are creating scenes that are familiar with people world wide. There are people that create art like this and don’t have to be professional or well known artist.

i think it's all real except for maybe the mona lisa pic.

The "help" was from people (he was talking about the dogs) and obviously from the camera speeding up.

I think the legs bit was perfectly genuine, just done very slowly and then sped up. You can see how much it is sped up by watching the black dots that are dogs/people zooming round at incredibly fast paces

When he says they had a little bit of help I think he means the people who helped herd the sheep. He is talking about how the dogs performed. Some of the shapes were too specific for the dogs to achieve.

I don't see why people think its fake... HE clearly says they had a little bit of 'help' ie CGI in some of it (like the leg of the giant sheep thing at the start) but the whole concept and what they have done with it is completely original. It looks like it was a lot of hard work, teamwork, and co-ordination! Really enjoyable vid

The Mona Lisa bit is sheep wearing different colored lights, tightly packed in an enclosure, and arranged to form sections of a photomosaic. Then the sections are put together to form the whole painting. It's just like gridding off a photo to enlarge it. There's no trick to it; any sign painter can do it. The loudest of the detracters here just don't get it. It's nicely conceived and executed, with style and humor. Good job.

I like the commentary because when you listen to the shepherd speak, he thanks the dogs. They were completely ignored in the original clip - and the border collies were critical to this endeavor. Yea sheep dogs!

My border collie is smart and tries to round up my kids. we taught her, Lucy, to bark when the kids go into the kitchen and they arent suppose to. Now she sleeps in front of the kitchen. Collies are fucking smart. Lucy even figured out how to turn keys on certain locks that are loose.

The herding of the sheep up close, sure, the lights on the animals sure.

The mass of animals tinted then projected to make the Mona Lisa.. that's as CGI as you can get. I'm a professional animator, I know this for a fact.

they did a christmas tree on a german tv show...they had cameras in the field and one with the host on the next hill (to have the distant view)....it took a bit but in the end it looked like a christmas tree

It's a stunt pulled and paid for by Samsung to push their way-overpriced LCD technology TVs.

More than half of the things in this video are made with computer graphics. All the scenes where they show the sheep from afar are digitally reworked. In particular the Mona Lisa and the section where the sheep form one huge animal, all that is reworked.
