@TheLionRichard I would say no... not at all. But you're comparing apples to oranges. Slash is a 1/10 scale track truck desinged to race, and the savage flux is a 1/8 scale monster truck desinged to bash. Both are really fast. It depends on what you're gonna do with it. Race at track= Slash. Race ANYWHERE= savage flux
hey can anyone help me with my savage 25 i dont realy know about this stuff but i have truoble turning it on but when it turns on it turn right back off then when it turns on again and i try to give it gas it turns off any help?
And its not at all possible that the top speed was in fact posted while the wheels werent even touching the ground? And that it was just the wheels free spinning?
@MrSpinalColumn No, Not at all possible since the gps device measuring the speed is not connected to the wheels, axles, or driveline in any other way than the tie-wrap used to hold it to the vehicle.
@jssouthtx I was just making sure that speedo wasnt just using RPM to measure speed. Good effort anyway man, Im probably gonna buy myself a savage flux today...
I used a pair of 4000 mah 3S lipos. The 2200 u c is for short burst speedruns. As for the esc. With batteries installed therez not anywhere else to stuff it. It could possibly go in the front of the chassis but wiring would need to be lengthened
Little off topic, but from your other video I noticed that you have the XL chassis and have the batteries mounted inside the chassis. Do you think you can make some videos to show how to that ?
What is the max size lipo you can place inside ? Not sure what two pair you were using. Than later you seemed to have switched to a 2200mah 6S? Only 2200?
Also, is that the only place to mount ESC? Can't be inside the body aswell?
@xxgg go to picasa web albums and serch for my user name. you'll find a ton of pics of this truck including some of how the batteries fit in the chassis
@jssouthtx can u get a 9/13 diff I have only seen the 9/29 t diff .. And in anither vid u put a 3speed in it .. That any quicker than the 39 t idler gear ?? Thanks :)
@hallboy61 I was mistaken on that but it's the bullet proof set up from hpi. The three speed sucked for top end. 68 was the best I could get. I liked having to do the mechanical brake setup tho. Thats a good mod all around
@nvtuning agreed lol, not the best tire for the application. Those runs were also made only to get a baseline speed with factory gearing. Phaltlines on the same gearing only pulled 58-60 after several runs. The badlands due to the 1/2 inch diameter difference got it up to 62. Of course with the right gearing and tire mods 80mph is not hard to reach.
@nvtuning I agree about the speed. Once setup for it the truck is usless for anything but that. I though am a firm believer in finding the limits on all my toys wether it be speed or bashing. Not much on racing but I may get into it with my new slash. As for badlands...yes they were taped....prior to 60 mph. After that two well installed wraps of gorrila tape just let go in two of the tires. Thats when I switched to kevlar wrapped tires and that has been what works best so far.
@Ir0nMaidan it's been clocked by the LHS's radar gun numerous times and so far no more than a 1mph difference. 4 out of 5 runs it cloced exactly the same. I'm always game for spectators though, especially ones with radar guns. Your welcome to come clock it for yourself next time I go out for speed runs
Hey hows it goin man....Naw I really cant knock traxxas. I actually like some of their stuff. I was kinda aiming those remarks at a certain "RedRaider" revo owner that likes to talk smack about my slow ass flux lol. I will admit that were I a full blown racer I'd choose the revo myself. I bash tho, so i chose the flux. You're right they both kick ass in their own way. So RedRaider.....here it is...I challenge your revo to some competition. You know how to reach me
@warnher Thanks, I'm pleased with how it has worked out. the chassis is made by Fastlane Machine. It's called The forward tranny conversion. There are three or four places that carry it if you google fastlane machine. I found mine for sale on the Savage Central forum. It's worth every penny. The esc is wrapped with pantyhose. I kept getting rocks or grass stuck in it that would stop the fan. So far so good. If you spray em with scotch guard before you install it'll shed water too.
@Templar443 no nothing is more sturdy then the savage

40 would be fine for me - 60 would certainly end in pieces if I were driving it lol

hallboy61 1 year ago
@hallboy61 25T pinion, 44T spur, 39T idler gear, 9/13 bulletproof HPI diffs. Just under 80 is the best I've ran so far. There's a vid of it posted.

@hallboy61 What do you mean reverse it? Do you mean the shaft inside the tranny for the 39T idler?

you need to get a set of hpi's phatlines series of tires for some proper handling speed runs, they work very well !
