the landscape design, voice acting and game play are fantastic in this mod. its definitely the best mod ive ever played. the only bad thing is that all that extra detail in the game design brings up the system requirements a fair bit. causes a fair bit of lagging (is that what you call it in offline play?) whenever i chase an animal through the forest or something like that. luckily i speak german too ;-)

@AvNotasian There's a version with English subs and that's perfectly playable, there are only a books they forgot to translate but those are not that important I think.

It's totally worth the annoyance imo, this game is way better than Oblvion. I'm not kidding.

@AvNotasian Appearantly you missed the beginning of the game. You start in a dungeon, the very FIRST thing that happens is you falling down into a pit of trolls. Sorry, but that doesn't seem like all talk and no game.

Ich freue mich au das Spiel (Mod) zu zocken. Sieht schon mal richtig gut aus und es wird mir warm ums Herz wenn ich höre das sie ein Beispiel an der Gothic Reihe nehmen.

Zudem finde ich die Gesichter der Chars richtig gut gelungen und nicht so wie in Oblivion. Seit dem ich die Schmiedin in Kaiserstadt gesehen habe krieg ich Nachts Alpträume^^

Ich finde es geil, dass sich welche die Mühe machen und ein Mod mit solch einem Umfang programmieren. Oblivion verstaubt in meinem Regal, so kann ich es wenigstens nochmal nutzen. Aber ich finde, ich weiss nicht wie es jetzt speziell bei diesem Team ist, dass die meisten Sorys von Mods irgendwie aufgesetzt wirken. Ich will jetzt nicht die Story von Oblivion preisen aber es spielte in einem realistischem Universum mit Nebengeschichten usw. (Bücher und was die Leute so labern).

Aber nun zum Thema: Eine 3D-Engine zu programmieren ist alles andere als einfach. Ganze Firmen brauchen dafür Jahre. Außerdem hat Bethesda die Engine auch nur gekauft und selbst nur das Gameplay geschrieben, jaja, die Noobs. Für ein kleines Team bestehend von Hobbyentwicklern ist es so gut wie nicht möglich, eine halbwegs anständige Engine zu schreiben. Es fehlt sowie an Personal als auch an Zeit.

Wiso denn nicht Oblivion? Oblivion ist sehr bekannt und besitzt eine für RPG´s recht starke Engine. Ich meine was hätte man im Zeitraum, in dem Nehrim begonnen wurde, denn sonst nehmen sollen? Gothic 3 war noch nicht erschienen und die Engine von Gothic 3 ist auch so eine Sache...
