  • Beautiful, we have our own Maypole in Idaho :x love to you in Glastonbury!

  • i actually watch the whole 937 min.

  • Glastonbury........ In what state? O.o sorry, I'm horrible at geography.

  • Wonderful from start to finish! We at Maypole Hill, at Merrymount in Quincy Mass., hope that all you folks feel wholly invited to participate with us in celebrating Thomas Morton of Merrymount on or around May 1st each year---he was the first to practice these traditions in America! Contact at ANCIENT LIGHTS dot o-r-g

  • (Psst, the maypole stands for an erect penis, shhhhh don't tell the squares)

  • @SupernautG (Psst, the wreath is a vagina... and when the wreath reaches the bottom.. climax!) :)

  • @MooCowMama I guess I should say *if* the wreath reaches the bottom... poor Goddess didn't get hers this time :(

  • A fellow Pagan invited me to her coven's Beltane celebration this year! It's a pretty small group, I believe, so I was thrilled to hear we'll be having a Maypole! The first time I'm actually celebrating a Sabbat with a group of people <3

  • looks so fun!!! but it seems like it takes forever to finish too :)

  • @TiffanyDoll - What takes ten minutes of forever watching in a chair takes a very-quick ten minutes when dancing! This is a participatory experience, and the time flies in the Dance :)

  • I'm only 13 so I can't go to one :<

  • So wonderful and amazing!! They do this at Waldorf Schools :D And I want to become a waldorf teacher and teach in and throughout Europe. Perfecttt

  • ... Wish we had a pagan community that big here in France :(

  • @Welliscah dont feel bad i live in florida its mail Scientologist and Catholic and Protestant but there is Pagans here but none thats near me ;(

  • <3 I wish so much to dance the maypole but I always fear messing up

  • I would love to take part in this...I unfortunately live in a community where something like this would never be allowed. I want so badly to move far away so I can celebrate the things that truly speak out to me, but right now I can't afford to. I'd like so much to just drop everything here and GO, even if I had to go all the miles on my own two feet...and if some change doesn't come soon, I may do just that. I feel like I'm suffocating here.

  • @Nyghtshade409 where are you located? why is it not allowed?

  • @anyways345 I live in Central Texas-in a very conservative area. Most people here are catholic, or some form of christian, and anything outside of that is freakish or evil. I live in the kind of small town where people still believe in exorcisms.

  • @Nyghtshade409 wow! for your sake, I really hope you'll get to 'break out' soon!

  • @Nyghtshade409 I understand you, many people are like that in Mexico as well, the conservative Catholics of my home state were very strict, anyone who was not Catholic was considered an outkast, which is why I am glad my family and I lived in an area of Indigenous Oaxacans, we all knew each other and performed our rituals in peace.

  • Watching this, not only the dance itself but everyone else - the band, the girl sitting on the ground, and so on - I feel something familiar; something that touches my Pagan soul. I've only participated in the Maypole dance once, and it was not very good as it was not a pole but a ribbon at a local public circle. It was fun and chaotic, but this is magical.

  • I can almost feel the pure joy radiating through my computer screen, watching this! This is amazing! Blessed be!

    )O(

  • Great Maypole!!

  • that looks like so mush fun! i hope when im older i can go to one

  • This looks amazing!! From putting on the wreath down to the 'orgasmic' music and fast circling in the end. Marvellous! I hope to one day experience a Beltane pole dance just like it! :) Thank your for sharing!

  • Looks like a lot of fun.!
