  • Finally!! A song about Corey Haim!!!

  • i could listen this song until will spend the time :X

  • chills. every time.

  • Luck isn't winning a lottery or such. Luck is be passing down a bridge while there's a heavenly musical performance, as this, happening.

  • shes such a poet.

  • Miss Elizabeth, that was VERY cool.

  • *security

  • "aww shit secrity, run! (bom-bobom bom.)"

  • i would definitely cry tears of joy if i get to meet them blogotheque style. omfg

  • that guy with the bike by the road lol. epic. i envy him.

  • If New Order and Rilo Kiley had a baby it would be LAND OF TALK! <3

    My new favourite, 'new' band!

  • amazing

  • Note to self: hang out under bridges for the best in live music.

  • @Derekmf23 amen.

  • @Derekmf23 Hahahaha, i know right?!!!

  • That voice I can to compare to my first orgasm. ;)

  • her voice kills me every time.

  • She shatters everything I know about "the bass and the movement." I just came here for two reasons: I like the way her voice and guitar could take over my heart. And the way LaBlogotheque can manipulate the vision of yesteryear and tomorrow.

  • where is that kids mom?

  • One of the guys should have been singing second vocal during the chorus I think.

  • Yellow dot on the nail 1:32

  • My little home town gave you Gordon Lightfoot. Now it has given you Elizabeth Powell. You're welcome

  • fully sick!!!

  • 444 likes. I'm the 445th (Y)

  • wow, incredible band. best of lucks for you guys! (awesome as always blogotheque)

  • How could someone dislike this??

  • @LeoLee1991 because some people are idiots

  • goddamn, her voice is absolutely perfect. this version is so incredible.

  • Well played.

  • ♥ Land of Talk ♥ Land of Talk ♥ Land of Talk ♥ Land of Talk ♥ Land of Talk ♥

  • hahaha cute kid!

  • "Not to be confused with Corey Haim."

    love her.

  • fantastic voice and music. but she is so skinny on this video, she wasnt like that before. what happened to her?

  • @budabua she's always been stick-thin. I'm not sure if it's natural or not...

  • She made the truck, the security guy, the kid and her mom stop!

  • The sound quality on this is great, whoever set up the mics did a great job.

  • Un des meilleures vidéos que j'ai vu de ma vie. Simple & parfait. Je vais voir Land of Talk le 3 mars justement à Québec, le vidéo me donne simplement de plus en plus hâte. Bref, bravo.

  • and . . . he approves!

  • This place reminds of the very end of Cloverfield.

  • What an amazingly talented group. They keep their senses of humor which is great. Whether or not they make it to bonafide "superstardom" ,as they should, matters little. They are already superstars in my mind.

  • Tunes Award 2010

  • come angel band!!!!!!!!!

  • one of my favourite LaBlogotheque videos

  • @Creamy360 agreed! keep on coming back to this one :D

  • Get the little Habs fan away from there before he ruins the performance!

  • hey I saw these guys in 2010, they were fuckin' baddass

  • Wow....I really enjoyed that very much...

  • beautiful...

    .simply beautiful..

  • That guy on the bike doesnt know how lucky he is to be there. This was amazing!

  • It's not that sunny under a bridge, take the glasses off. Otherwise, outstanding band.

  • @skiptracer62 they are talented musicians, my dear boy, and they can wear sunglasses when/where ever they please! good day to you sir.

  • Great sound for under a bridge. Good song.

  • she is really hot

  • i hate their studio stuff but live, it's expression and beauty

  • @hebrewninja Hate is a strong word...

  • I totally had that keyboard as a kid.

  • @markyfiveten Do you know what keyboard it is?

  • Damn! I wonder what are the chords for this wonderful song!

  • Its a mystery why Im so into this song...

  • There's something special and unique about this song, probably Elizabeth's voice. ;)

  • beautiful music

  • She sounds a little bit like Stevie Nicks.

  • I want these guys on the soundtrack of the movie they are going to make of my upcoming graphic novel.

  • i love the fuck outta them. jeezuz f'n christ! they make me wanna hug air.

  • This is way better than the album version

  • Better than anything I've heard come out of a costly studio.Just perfect.

  • wow... dinky keyboard and acoustic guitar at 1:00 sound so much like early New Order.

  • hahaha!! I always love the standers-by in these take away shows! :D

this is great. I love you la blogotheque

  • it'd be cool to get some Canadian perspective in this series other than from Montreal. Just saying.

  • @DavidF89999 you're right but we have only 5 days to spend... Next time I wish I could stay longer !

  • @DavidF89999 Well, La Blogothèque is a French project, so Montreal is a natural for them, and they probably got to know Land of Talk through Karkwa. That said, Do Make Say Think would rock the streets in Toronto.

  • @JoeJackWagner It's true what you are saying, but what I was referring to was that in the context of the project which this video is a part of, one city does not define a nation's identity so only using Montreal as the Canada segment does not do the country justice because Canada has such a large land mass the musical styles and cultures are quite contrasting as a whole from one coast to the other. I am happy Canada was included in the project, of course.

  • i love canadian musicians :)

  • awesome. thanks for this.

  • Hahaha, that little kid in the Habs shirt is darling.

  • this is sort of beyond amazing.

  • ah. i love that the camera followed that little boy for a bit; tho i do wish he would have acknowledged the music in some way...nope. he had places to go. ahaha.

at least the lone biker fellow hung around to the end - and with a thumbs up too! yes!

this performance was lovely. her voice is hypnotic. another good one LaBlog!!

  • “he had places to go” :) ( great post )... I also think he had places to go. I wonder if he’s going to remember that day with musicians playing in the park

  • @watashiwamillo “he had places to go”  ( great post )... I also think he had places to go  I wonder if he’s going to remember that day with musicians playing in the park

  • whats the first song shes singing?

  • @mhmmitskjay "Angel Band" is what the song is called.

It is a song from the 1860s, the most well known version is from the "Stanley Brothers", and that version can be found on the soundtrack of the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" But it is very different from this version. I am not going to say which one is better, this something to figure out for yourself :) .

  • @mhmmitskjay First song is Angel Band

  • whoa the beat and guitar sounds very "phoenix-esque"

  • She kind of looks like Carrie-Anne Moss with the sunglasses on.

  • She said: 'shit'.

  • "Quarry Hymns" will be on their new record Cloak & Cipher. Out August 24th. Love this version!

  • where can i find this song?? i'm in love!

  • great acoustics. her voice is butter.

  • @youenjoymyself41 Shes making love to my ear vagina's and i'm liking it.

  • Elizabeth is amazing!

  • "Quarry Hymns. Not to be confused with Corey Haim."

    I lol'd.

  • GO CANADIENS!
