Thimerisol contains ethylmercury, not methylmercury which is the inorganic mercury that most people think of when hearing about it. Ethylmercury is less toxic and has a much shorter half life than methyl, so short in fact that it has been shown to be completely flushed out of your system within a month of receiving a vaccine leaving no noticable effect on the person.

We they're just getting away legally with a bi-law because one of the ingredients in thimerosol is mercury.
