I was born in the late 50s, and grew up in the 60s era revolution. I loved the patriotic songs like this one. Although the 60s revolutionized America, there were still more people that were patriotic to their country back then than there are today. That is real sad.
Watching this I'm almost moved to tears. It's so beautiful. Mind you, I'm 33 years old, so all these songs are before my time. But I fell in love with oldies at a very young age.
I love these songs. I can't help but think that she is lip synching or the songs are playing in the background? Dubbed? Sounds exactly like my cd, until I watched I thought this was just a cd copy. I'd love her mic a little louder and clearer. But yes, she is amazing.
DIANE! YOU ARE SOOO FANTASTIC!! I WANTED TO SEE YOU IN PERSON IN THE 60'S AS NAVY BLUE IS ONE OF MY FAVES, BUT, UNFORTUNATELY, IT NEVER HAPPENED. I LOVE YOU MORE THAN CHER!! XXX
I hope you don't mind my saying, I mean it out of good intentions, but the sailor hat looks very pretty on you. love your music and thanks for the autograph. Jack Plum
WOW!!!!! She is still GREAT!!! What a tribute to all the Miltary. My Dad was a Lt. Col who flew the first jet and he told me years ago he met Diane Renay at reunion and also Dorthy Lamore.
My first 45 single was "Navy blue" back in the 60's......I was 8 years old and very much in love with that song.....I kept that record under my pillow at night! You still look greate Diana... Love from Jan in Norway.
I was living in Norfolk VA, a Navy town, my Dad stationed there, when this song broke (1964?) and it was an absolute SMASH hit. It stayed at #1 on WGH for weeks and they must have played it every hour. It even knocked The Beatles out of the #1 spot.
I was in 8th grade when I got a crush on Ms Renay's beautiful voice. I'm awed that she's as beautiful as her voice even 45 years later. Amazing. Best of all she's obviously just as beautiful on the inside and patriotic too. She deserves a medal for supporting the troops and veterans who put their lives on the line to keep our previous freedoms intact. She puts the current generation of so many stars to shame who don't support our troops or worse yet, visit horrible dictators
What a Great Talent, I heard your tunes, and really like em. Ya, you look Great too. I can't believe this is really your site too. Love the voice. Thanks for posting.
