ableton has plenty of built in sounds and loops that you can work with, ive only been using it for 5 days and ive already got the hang of it. just watch as many tutorials as possible, it will all come together! once you learn the BASICS, like how to make a beat, sequence, warp, and loop..youll be ready for more advanced stuff. good luck to you!
Ableton is a bad place to start. I started with this digital music stuff on Acid. It is very simple - Ableton is for live performance and all of those clips should be locked to the timegrid and be true loops. Once this happens everything will play in sync perfectly. I would suggest rteading your manual for Ableton about how to crteate loops first. Then you can at least build up a library of source material to use with it.
Learn about music theory. One good place to start is the wikipedia. Look up tranc, dance, house, or any other type of music you want. It will share theories about rhythm, combinations, and present to you a history to give you a broader view of what you are doing. Although it will not help you with your software, it will help you understand the technical aspects of music. Good luck!
it's just to complex for me atm i'm at ACM in guildford doing music production and thats on logic so much easier. just turn it on and everything happens. you have loops that work with what you are programing so if you don't want to play your own bass or drums or w/e just find a loop =]
yeah it took me agesssssssss for figure anything out because theres no simple instructions. you want to to it through prefrences and then arm it and once that is done you can sync it =]
oh wow id give a leg for a koass pad :D theyre soo cool :D i think i might give up on ableton and buy acid pro or something lol thanks for the help though :D
yeah i no what you mean people say how amazing how albleton is but tbh you have to sit for hour and hours to learn it and hardly anywhere do cources i prefer logic because it's logical. for example if you want to set up your audio channels you go to audio channels but on ableton it's like prefferences/aduio/channel imputs/stero or mono see what i mean if all else fails you can always go for garageband or ejay :P
It´s shit.

I'm only 14 too haha, I wish I could help. I've only got a lite version of ableton- I can't afford the full thing yet, not even LE at the movement.

I can't use it either. If you can put in midi tracks, then get a drum loop program. That might help some.

yeah im having the exact same problem, its like why even put the software with it if u cant even use it.

use the compressor2 preset called limiter to adjust the volume of each track.
