  • An air crash investigstor who drives a car with the registration plate "CRASH 1"...?...!

    Oh lordy.

  • Greg Fyffe sounds an arse.

  • Anti-Ice: Off...OFF? Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. From that point- on they were doomed.

  • @737FSPilot

    Yeah

  • the "we're going down, larry" and the "i know!" and sound of the impact in the background makes me wanna cry

  • Bjones4 - Many, many heart felt thanks for posting these videos! If I could hug ypu right now I would!

Your fan and subscriber for 2+yrs,

  • Greg Feith, what a douchebag. Probably good at what he does, but damn what a slick character... I bet love to be asked "how do you handle a woman?" hed probably answer the same... "ya get out there, ya got yer adrenaline pumpin, but ya gadda take a step back, ya know? Take a step back, adjust yourself, go out there and do it. Some of us handle it better than others...some just cant comprehend wat theyre seein... ya know? Put me in the woods ill smell my way"

  • "...depending on how scared we are"........ depending on how scared you are?!?! If I had heard them talk that way I would not have boarded that plane. Being a lot more serious would have done them good. Geez, you are responsible for other people's lives! Be serious about it! This is why I hate flying. You have to trust that 2 people push one little button or else...

  • Thanks for posting these, bjones. I really appreciate it.

Also, I think Greg Feith is awesome at what he does. Really have a lot of respect for him. Color-block shirts and all.

  • What are you talking about, those colored shirts kick ass.

  • I have a question I'd like ask to the readers of this accident. I'm not a 737 pilot but somewhere I read that de-icers should be OFF on take-off because it robs some thrust from the engines to heat the wings. Responces and ideas are most welcome to my comments.

    -Cheers Bill

  • Hi Bill. Not a 737 pilot too, but AFAIK: 737's have separate anti-ice devices for the wing and the engine. The wing anti-ice automatically disengages when the throttle exceeds the 'take-off warning' level. But the engine anti-ice is a different system, where the ENG.ANTI-ICE switch has full authority; also if you select engine anti-ice, this adjusts the stickshaker and the minimum maneuver speed bars on the airspeed indicators.

  • Yeah, both wing and engine anti-ice get their bleed air from the engines compressor, and there is a performance penalty when it is used, although this is factored into the perf. calculation. It is typically a 300KG penalty off the Restricted TakeOff Mass. However engine anti-ice MUST be used when the temp. is below 10 degrees C and visible moisture present, even on taxi. Wing anti-ice MUST be used on takeoff, unless the aircraft has been de-iced using a type 2, or 4 de-icing fluid.

  • Do not fly Air Florida ever

  • @jennycorea the big ones always eat the little ones. I think Air Florida got swallowed up by one of the big ones.

  • a shocking catalogue of piloting errors. unbelieveably unprofessional. checklists are a fundemental part of good piloting and they failed badly. totally preventable accident ...... awful

  • They should just abort the take off, terrible terrible accident.

  • I think the passenger's safety was the last thing that were going through those pilots minds.

  • They were fair weather former F-15 AirForce pilots. I was an Instructor at Norfolk Naval Air Station in Virginia and military flyers can lack some basic civilian fundamentals. I was a freight pilot here in Michigan and winter weather flying will always separate the men from the queezy.

  • i agree .. they should have did their pre trip inspection.. CHECKLIST CHECKLIST, pilots are not to make mistakes....

  • I can't believe they can ever forget to turn on the anti ice button, very VERY unprofessional.

  • those two pilots and florida air sux
