Because originally when you couldn't just scan it to your computer, the method of copying transparent original drawings produced blue images. They coated a paper with stuff that changed colour when exposed to light, put the original on top of it and exposed it to light.

The methods have changed since, and these days the blueprints aren't necessarily blue, but they are still called such.

@susie9445 I think, and this is just my theory, Perry wanted the exercise because he felt he didn't need to defeat Doof... until after the song. Even during the song, his expression turned sour when he learnd he was gonna get trapped. This, he's there to help Phineas and Ferb, and doesn't want anything to distract him from that, especially Doofenshmirtz's singing.

Just my theory.

Its extremely detailed and well animated this is just disney so they aren't going to spend a billion dollars on every episode, they wrote them for the story not for the art. Also, anime is just the same 4 scenes played over again, Dragonball z, Sailor Moon, hell even the new shows are just one or two sequences replayed to save money, at least everything about this is new animation

If this was anime, they would already have opened a portal to the Netherrealms and sumonded Qxedesu, god of chaos. By this point in the series, they would be training their fighting skills while having weird romantic scenes. There would probably be some tentacles and Isabella would either be a) being #2 in kicking ass or b) being comic relief that hits all her companions. There would be no room for blueprints.
