  • thanks Men,, :D :D

  • thats nice thanks!!

  • hey where you make your intro??

  • It looked so much better before you did overlay. Mine was looking really good until i chose Overlay, but good job :)

  • Thanks for the video.

Although I changed something when doing this: I have dıplicated the layer before using High Pass filter; then used the filter on the new duplicated layer and then changed the blending to overlay. This gives you more control over the image.

  • Thank you!

  • Could you mumble a little more please, I almost understood part of what you said.

  • you live you learn

  • isnt everything he does increase contrast and sharpen the image? when he put the layer to overlay the shadow and highlight effect which looks slightly like hdr doesnt actually show anymore... or am i missing something?!

  • Yes...please speak louder and talk clearly. Some of us photogs are older and have done too much "rock and Rollin'.....

  • can u teach me how to create your intro video??? @imagenskins

  • without the hight pass it looks way more than hdr but good job helped me alot

  • Can this be achieved in PSE 9?

  • Thanks!!

  • i had one shite image and was just browsin youtube. Then this vid came up and I had to try it out and it worked!!! My shite colourless image now looks averag

  • A little bit more confidence in the voice would have been helpful. I had to crank up the sound to barely understand what this guy was saying.

  • thank you so much this was awesome

  • Fine tutorial my friend, just have to fix the sound, its too low!; a whole alternative for those times (that are most of the times) when you dont have the 3 pics, i got fine results with this and of course, going to suscribe to your channel!

  • AMAZING! Possibly one of the simplest and effective PS techniques I have seen in months! Thanks!

  • superb teaching...compliments....

  • mine turned out really shit cuz of all the numbers and then when i moved to the black thing turned out worse

  • Good tutorial, you can also use Unsharp Mask to create the look as well along with the shadows/highlights.

  • not it's not and HDR effect. it's tone mapping in 8 bit. HDR itself is an effect (process). Educate yourself!

  • Its called HDR Effect, emphasis being on Effect here, it is not a true HDR but it supposed to imitate the real thing. It is done very well and allows a lot more diversity than other methods given in other tutorials.

Thank you so much, this will really help me in the future ;)

    Monkey

  • thanks for the tutorial.. this is very helpful in making a pseudo HDR effect and to people who keep sayin this is not how to do it, just listen before any chit chat...

  • yeah if you could sound alive instead of wounded, that would be more professional.

  • Thanks!

  • Thnku :D

  • so what aperture exactly would you suggest to pick up rays of light like that? ive been trying to find out but i cant seem to find any information on it.

  • MC LOVIN!

  • the tutorial is ok..but sounds like and old lady speaking

  • Hey thanks so much man. I have been wondering how to do the HDR effect without photomatix for a while now and now i know how. Much appreciation bro. And thats a wonderful picture.

  • theres a reason its called the HDR 'effect'! lol

  • Great job, thank you!

  • Thank you very much, and hello from Va, USA.

  • one of the nicest share. Thanks a lot

  • Also is this a TIFF 8 bit or more image? Still just trying to learn.

  • Why do you convert it to a smart object? I don't do much with them so just curious.

  • I'm a photojournalist and have never worked with HDR. I was deffinatly going to try shooting for myself the three diff exposures, but for one image..I think it is amazing. I found a shot I took from inside an old house when I had some time to do more fine art and I thought it was hopeless only bc my highlights were so blown. But after using this effect unlike many other ways I have tried through you tube one pic photoshop tutorials...this is so dramatic and fantastic. Thank you!

  • @arippen84 Thank You very much, I appreciate you taking your time to make a comment. :)

  • Well lost alot of detail in the sun burst,so how is that HDR ??

  • that's exactly what I needed , to add more drama to my photos ! quite simple and very effective ! thanks !

  • works to cs5 aswel

  • thank you soo much

  • Thank you for the easy step by step way to get your pictures better looking. Cool...

  • my digicam is jpeg format ..........

how can i process it to hdr

  • @krucialbeatz1 This is pseudo HDR effect. In real HDR you need 3 pictures with different exposures, this is an alternative way to do it if you don't have 3 separate pictures.

  • @ImagenSkins do you have more Professional looking photos tutorial? As if you're using canon camera? pls?

  • If you only got a shot once, but you shot it in raw, you can create the different exposures yourself and then put it together in photoshop.

  • perfect!! :)

  • wtf?? no difference

  • Now with the CS5 Theres a option for HDR...

  • i will DL the sound effects its very cool on 5.1 speakers.

  • U ok dude? U sound sick. Lol. Great video though

  • arigato :3

  • @MrVrceldesigns

Thanks for the comment, but I prefer you actually take a look at the tutorial with sound on. I mentioned how this is psuedo-HDR effect and how you need 3 separate images with different exposures for the actual HDR. Now please take a look at the tutorial again and stop trollin'. Thanks.

  • @ImagenSkins Owned. lol

  • @ImagenSkins yes it is better but maybe you got a shot only once because it was gone in a split second.

if you don't have 3 images for whatever reason, this is good to. :)

  • @MrVrceldesigns he said Photoshop HDR effect(effect), he didn't say Real HDR. Why you people can't be happy of people trying to help people? If you don't like the video, browse more mor*n.

  • Nice tutorial many thanks :)))))

  • Well, the final render is not so bad, but it's still not HDR.

HDR needs 3 pics with 3 different exposures, as ImagenSkins said.

Anyway, your tutorial is still good =)

    Keep on shootin' !!!

  • nah 0:35 - 3:30 nothing fucking happened

  • lol,.this is no HDR OMG :D

  • That is actually nice for a fake HDR effect ... I'm impressed ... Thank you for sharing

  • thanks!!!

  • thank youuu :)

  • Well that was pretty neat. Although it does makes the photos a lil more grainy.

  • this is nit HDR ..lol

  • if you could speak up next time it would be helpful...good job though

  • @rondallafan Thank You, I will keep that in mind for future tutorials.

  • what version of photoshop are you using?

  • @thalidomide01

I am used Photoshop CS3, but you can use any version of photoshop from CS2-CS4

  • High Dynamic Range.

This is a fake HDR effect. For the actual HDR effect you need photographs with 3 different exposures. However, the outcome is pretty close and gives a High Quality outcome, not only to photographs, but for video game screenshots also.

  • yea that's right. But this technique is very easy and pretty close. Very nice

  • Very nice tutorial, Miraj.

    What does HDR stand for?
