  • 24 MT blast! That is as much as a tzar bomb!

  • @platinum243125

Tsar bomba was 57 MT had Mt. St. Helens produced that much of an explosive force....

    i'd rather not picture that.

  • @RazgrizDaemon So Mt St helens was less than half the force of the tzar bomb? Thanks for the information

  • @platinum243125 One source says the following: "The eruption had an estimated equivalent to a 10 megaton nuclear weapon."

  • @ChannelingusLLC The website of Destroyed in Seconds says 500 megatons. It also says Krakatoa was 2.6 gigatons. Though MOST sources say 200 megatons.

  • Shit! I wasn't even born yet!

  • this is awesome vid.i live couple hrs away from MT ST Helens

  • If happens in a remote area... image what will happen if Mt Rainier should go off!

Just don't live in the town of Orting.. (need to check spelling)

Property values will not rise there, because if Mt Rainer should go, Orting will only have 1/2 to 45min to get to high ground or out of town via one road.

They will get hit by a Lahar! Digging there has shown layers of past lahars, and destructive remnants of those lahars.

  • @equarg Look up the Rome city that was near a volcano.... it was found by accident, I think.

  • @mattstorm360 Pompeii and Herculaneum were close to Mt. Vesuvius and both were destroyed when Vesuvius erupted on August 24, 79 AD.

  • @mattstorm360

You mean Herculaneum and Pompeii (2 different cities that got buried in Aug 24 79AD)

Yep....that is EXACTLY what hill happen to the town of Orting!....they will be come a tourist attraction in about 1930 years!

  • @mattstorm360 the city is pompeii

  • It's terrible what happened, but it's not like these people didn't have any warning it was coming! They chose to be within the blast zone and paid the price with their lives. I would have gotten the hell out of Dodge as soon as the warnings went out! A volcano is not something to play Russian Roulette with!

  • Who is the voice over of this show?

  • @alphastar19 Ashton Smith. He does most of the movie trailers now.

  • My Birthday is May 18th And that day and i Turned 3 years old that Day

  • @Goku131 shit

  • 31 years since this horrible disaster happened that killed 57

  • @Lengas32 I was just about to put a comment about the 31-year anniversary. :)

  • A good pull back zone for this expected eruption is Reno, NV.

  • i was 10 when this eruption happened and day turned to night in hours and the ash fell like snow and i was just 30 miles outside Seattle- never will forget it!
