boot into safe mode with command prompt and schedule a chkdsk /f during next boot. if that doesnt work, go into the BIOS and make sure your hard drive controller is set correctly. if that doesnt work, remove the CMOS battery for 30 secs and put it back in and turn it on. then take out the hard drive and put it back in and make it the first boot device in the BIOS.

I haven't read all comments, but what you can do is download Ubuntu and install alongside your windows system. Then, when you have done that, load Ubuntu, mount your windows system (google it). Copy all your windows files to a USB stick. Reinstall windows. Copy files back. It's a pain, but will work and is a 2 hour job. From now on, might wan to consider running a dual boot system. That way, you always have one that works. May not be everyone's cup of tea.

got the blue screen of death before and the problem was tht one of my drivers was corrupted. what operating system are you using? when u first turn on your laptop you can push the F buttons to get to a menu to do a system restore. this mite work for you

get a vista recovery cd and put it in when u turn ur computer on (while loading) and when it says press any key to boot from cd/dvd press anything and then go to the repair tool and see if that fixes it...

I fixed my friends Laptop a Toshiba it's xp and i reinstalled xp on his and it works again.

Just download windows xp from a working computer from the pirate bay and then you burn the IOS file on to a dvd and then you just insert it in your laptop and its going to say press any key to load cd or to boot from cd and 4rm there u just format and reinstal and there its that simple.

For Finestizpro i also had that problem a couple of months ago. what i did was that i would log off and on then all the icons would appear. Then i would download Internet Explorer.

After a couple of times doing this the computer started working again by it's self.
