The voice in the background is his backing track. He's listening to it and singing along to it. It's an old studio trick, it doesn't look as fake if you really sing along. Everyone watching the show hears the backing track, not what he's actually doing. Most music acts mime on TV shows because it's easier than doing a live mix. It's worse (or funnier) when there's a live band miming too. They usually look embarrassed or sometimes ashamed!

If a singer is singing live vocals, they have to hear their voices, so they know what they r singing. Have u ever tried to record ur singing without hearing it? Im sure it sounds something like this. Thats why i think its so damn stupid to say that he cant sing. (Im not fan, so thats not why im saying this)

Notice its only the girls... who probably have his poster above their bed... who are saying its fake? While all the guys, the girls with a clue.. and even the sound engineer about half way down the comments page are saying its genuine? Its a recording from one of his studio sessions making his album that someone put over a video to spread it around more effectively, get over it- 99% of pop artists can't sing, they're just pretty looking cash-cows: i.e. why isn't Susan Boyle given music videos?

Stating someone can't sing whether than be on a major news network, talk show ..etc. will not get you sued, but "yes" what can get you sued is falsifying the audio content.

@sarafranco100 What i myself "don't" understand about Enrique is why he has resorted lately to a rather redundant, and rightfully so extremely ridiculed use of "Auto Tune" for his vocals? The man "can" sing, why use something that Cher started using in the 90's that is mostly used by those for whom have literally "no" vocal ability when he "does" have the ability? No one for whom is serious about music takes Auto Tune seriously and is frowned upon in a very large way within the industry.

You do know that it was howard stern who made this public, right? And then Enrique went on the Howard Stern Show and sang this live and acoustic and actually proved he can sing. Btw, have you ever seen him sing live? His live performances are great, and you just know when they aren't playback.

The voice in the background is his backing track. He's listening to it and singing along to it. It's an old studio trick, it doesn't look as fake if you really sing along. Everyone watching the show hears the backing track, not what he's actually doing. Most music acts mime on TV shows because it's easier than doing a live mix. It's worse (or funnier) when there's a live band miming too. They usually look embarrassed or sometimes ashamed!
