  • Beautiful. Thank you for blessing all who listen.

  • One of my great grand mothers was Algonquin from the area west of what is now Quebec. I try to honor her and and my other ancestors from other nations with my life. The Lakota song you sing is beautiful. I want to learn it from you by watching over and over so that the song can join other songs I know from the nations of other ancestors like the Shawnee, Cherokee and Delaware all of whom are in my blood. To honor you I will play my flute while thinking of your gift of song. We are all related.

  • I absolutely love your voice! So beautiful.

  • Thats beutiful. Im not native, but i love the lakota, history. I know this is a 4 year old video, and you probably dont go on this channel anymore, but do you know any sun dance songs. Have you ever got to see a sun dance. I only have seen it in movies, and only 1 real picture of it happening in hte 1890's. It looks like a really really painfull thing to do, but I can see how it can be speritual. Ignore my spelling.

But one thing is certain we should get rid of the white stereotype originated of Columbus that they are Indians, because they are not.

Just as the French thought that LaChine is here.

On the other hand we can not blame the farmers and the working class of the white. The colonizing and cruel think thank members were the elite bankers, trading companies, the land hungry feudal lords, the whole system was sick.

  • i like this nice aho! yeah yeah u sing nice love it

  • i'd like to know what the translation is if you want to use it for a girl ..,,

love this song,, i fell asleep with this song last night, and i was asleep very quickly,,

i'm reading a book right now titled as : Naduah,, it's a story about the indians and the white people.. i'm writing down the translations of names and things who are discribed in that book.. i love this stuff.. nice voice ;)

  • The lyrics are in the description, the rest is just musical chanting to sooth your mind and soul. That is what a lullaby is meant for. Even in other songs such as pow wow and round dance you will have musical chanting as fillers. That is just the native way, as most of the time when our ancestors sung songs they did not rely on instruments for melodies, but their voices!

  • Awesome performance.:)

I am Dutch and I want to learn Lakota! I think it's a beautiful language.

  • Mi'kmaq! : )

  • I love this song thank you ! your voice is enchanting. Do you know any Mi'kmaq lullaby's or songs you can sing for us, it was a large part of my childhood and it is lost to me now.

  • Beautiful!! Very calming sounds... My mother is Metis and Irish, and I am very proud of this Native Blood running through my veins. I never knew about it when I was a kid, and when I learned my roots it really explained alot to me. My granfather commit suicide because he was treated very poorly, he couldnt get a job to feed his family. Natives have been targetted for destruction for far too long, so many destroy themselves its sad.

  • Líla hóniwašte. You have a very beautiful voice.

I noticed you have the word "istimba" in the video description - here are the correct lyrics, using the spelling system of the New Lakota Dictionary, and an easier-to-read one also. ;)

Čhaŋté wašté hokšíla akhé ištíŋma, haŋhépi kiŋ wašté.

Chanté washté hokshíla akhé ishtínma, hanhépi kin washté.

  • Ayeh, anish sonnes Lakotah Eh ahuk etowa spumukee tei gatch-ins, Eh notah tei Lakotah k'larni peetuk tei nacamolo. Yes, what little Lakotah I have learned over the years, I hear the Lakotah tongue in the song.

  • I am Albert Marshall Jr Mi'kmaq, Welta'q, saq kis welsitm ne'kumuew tapiaqn, And yes its good to see our youth getting back into it, unfortunately we as Mi'kmaq had the first contact so most of our songs and ceremonies are gone, but if we can easily adopt non-native ways, we can surely adopt other tribes songs and customs, after all we are all red and we all belong to turlte island. Keep it up Epite's brings joy to my heart
