There might have a been an album to have rivalled the incredible "Dare". However, Susan Sulky had a pissy-knickered-hissy-fit over some triviality and consequently Martin Rushent walked.
It's worth bearing in mind that the iconic programming and sequencing on "Dare" was all done by Martin Rushent, un-arguably the genius behind "Dare". You will never hear Phil Oakey, Jo Catteral or Susan Sulky giving Rushent any credit, but without Rushent The Human League lost their credibility. RIP Rushent.
@Fentoradore Oh simmer down. Joanne has said in the last week that she was very sad to hear of Martin's death, and that he was a great producer and lots of fun to work with. I understand that Martin was working on an updated version of Love and Dancing recently so perhaps we should celebrate the collective work and leave what may or may not have happened in the past there.
Their accents are a trip!!! It is easier for me (as an American) to understand their words when they are singing as opposed to when they are speaking. Glad they are still doing great, loved them as a kid!!!
i was just a kid when they were popular back in the 80's even now i still love their music, i even have my kids liking their jams, and had a blast with my daughter when i saw them live at the hollywood bowl, come back to america again!
Every Decade there has always been a sound/fashion/dance to replace the last decades. For the first time in a hundred year or so there is no new sound and everyone is being forced to go retro, WHY? Well the world as we know it is coming to an end. 2012 He will return and the days of suffereing will finally be over!
Susan is the talent in the band now. Why didnt she go solo in her 30s when she had the chance. Shes left it too late now shes nearly 50. But shes still a total MILF today
i always loved them ever since facination. went to see them for first time in december 2005 they were really lively and loads of students there and younger people that i was suprised about. manchester appollo
think its a bit unfair to judge Joanne on her weight - she seems very happy and they arent in for the celebrity status just making music and performing.
It's really nice to see The Human League! They are really modest and lovely bunch of people. Actually, they are more than just 1980s hit machine group. I wonder when the media would acknowledge this fact rather than merely looking at chart positions and record sales figures.
Have to agree, although i loved Dare when i was a kid i owned nearly everything The Human League made. Now in my late 30's their early electronica has got a 2nd wind and im glad people are picking up on the pioneering music they made then.
whats that first song they play???? anyone know

The MILFS look like 44 year old lasses - no worries with that - but he looks great for a guy in his mid 50s - great stuff

Eleven year olds suddenly listening to it again now? I was listening to their stuff, albeit as a teenager, in the late '90s.

Great band. "Don't You Want Me Baby" is the 25th best selling song of all time.

Real Sheffield people. Kept all their albums from late 70's before the girls joined into eighties with the girls.
Human League show how to remain 'Human' in a world of Prima Donnas and bling.

It's really such a shame that Joanne has let herself go. Susan used to be the plain one, now she is a little blonde sexpot.

well Joann has had a baby so shell spend most of her time tending to her son Susan has more free time to spend on her looks
