wtf? this is so fake, this wouldn't happen in real life, an alligator will destroy a bear, no doubt. no bear has da strength to flip over an alligator and an alligator for sure wouldn't retreat in a fight
wow so shark v croc, shark wins, gator v bear, bear wins....something is seriously wrong especially considering that in both cases the two reptiles supposedly end up exposing their baks, lame
0:14 is a crocodile there are no wilder beasts in America but there are wilder beasts in Africa, Africa does not have alligators only crocodiles. what a fail show on animal planets part
@Kraverick American alligators are much smaller than Nile and saltwater crocodiles. Although an alligator has a big bite, the black bear has a big body, strong forearms, and sharp claws. The black bear likely could flip over a 1000 lb alligator and if it did, it could rip open the 1/10 inch thick soft underside. Now try comparing that to a lion trying to hold back a Nile crocodile that weighs 2500 lbs.
aligator use tail swipe! alligator misses, alligator tries to run away, black bear use intimidate, black bear use roll out, black bear use claw, alligator has fainted
@linnaeakidd That comment of yours could hardly be any less correct. First thing I should mention, all crocodilians have soft underbellies, alligators included. Second, no animal has skin as hard as concrete, otherwise it wouldn't be flexible enough for the animal to move without breaking the skin. A bear is just the thing that would be strong enough to hold the gator on its back and deliver the fatal blow to the weak spot with its claws.
BEAR: time for a drink ALLIGATOR: no BEAR: what was that ALLIGATOR: RRRRRAAAAAAAAA!!!! BEAR: GET OF ME NOW!!!!! ALLIGATOR: NA! BEAR: CALM DOWN YOU CAN RUN BUT NOT HIDE!!!! ALLIGATOR: im off BEAR: HAVE A NICE TIP OVER!! ALLIGATOR: catch me then BEAR: ROAR!!! ALLIGATOR: DONT TIP ME! BEAR: sorry ALLIGATOR: NO! BEAR: GOODBYE!!
this shit is the dumbest crap i ve seen!!!!!! at 15 its not a gator its a nile croc!!! and at 59 theres another croc wtf??????!!?!?!?! then at 1:11 another croc!!!! then at 1:56 they have a grizzly bear swimming!!!!!! this show is beyond the term fucked up :/
@UltimateLizard331 it's showing the idea of what gators do. They show the concept with a croc. We all know this show is bullshit and that the gator would MAUL the bear. Seriously, even if the bear did break out, its adrenaline would kick in and it would run away in a dash. Thanks.
bshit, the gator rips trough the leathery skin of a wildebeast... how can it only grab some hair and fat.... whats more, the gator doesnt just let go, 600lbs is childs play for big gators.... btw how did the bear turn the gator over.... with his thumb and index fingers?
@FEAROWNAGE the underbelly has all sorts of stuff in there and if a giant claw comes along and scratches it it is game over pretty much like girl fight they always scratch each other and 1 always uses girl scratch and later on theyll say "i broke my nail!"
@ControltheDistance Crocodilians do it all the time. It's a classic maneuver called the "death roll." They use this tactic (most commonly) to either drown their prey, rip off limbs or tear apart meat. In this case, it was trying to get away from the bear's grip. But, it underestimated the bear's strength and got stuck on its back. That's when the bear's claws came in...
@NavyDogfish They don't do the roll unless they've got a firm grip on a piece of flesh. It's used for feeding, not escaping. If a crocodile wants to escape, it isn't going to flip over into a vulnerable and practically immobile position. The only reptiles that do that are snakes playing dead.
@ControltheDistance I know that they use it for feeding, but they do use it to shake off attackers too. The gator didn't really have a choice there, anyway. It wasn't trying to roll into an immobile position; it tried to execute a full rotation but the bear's strength stopped it from finishing the move, so it got stuck on its back. Then the bear finished it off.
@NavyDogfish Frankly, it would seem like that behavior would only be used in the water, as a giant reptile rolling on land would be slow and vulnerable. I'm not completely sure on this, but I think that this show is a load of bull.
@ControltheDistance Well, they are actually completely capable of rolling over entirely, on land or in water. Even juveniles are able to do this perfectly. It does seem unlikely that anything with a gator's build would have such an ability, but it's not in the legs. Their rolling ability comes from their powerful tail. If that bear hadn't anticipated the tail swipe, it would have all been over. But the bear is smarter and it saw the tail coming, so the alligator had no more defenses.
@ControltheDistance Plus, the gator actually did a death roll right after it bit the bear on the first attack. It didn't do much because it didn't grab any bone. The bear is 50% muscle, so even if the gator didn't do it on purpose, I think the bear would have been able to roll the alligator over.
No way in hell the interior crocodile alligator could have lost! Alligators do the death roll and that bear would have its leg ripped off! And alligators wouldnt turn around to do a tail swipe! wtf! this is cheating! if theres gonna be a video and a fake one at that make sure its a realistic fight!
i know what that said but gaters are ambush predators when that bear was by the water all the gator had to do was launch out of the water grabing the bears throat
This was such a bs program how many times in the history of the whoole planet have an anliagator/croc taken on a bear.. i reckon the alaigator would see the bear and back off. Besides theres no real logic in them fighting anyway.
@Irishviking3 Yes you are! The Alligator uses "Tail Swip". It misses. The Bear counters with "Swipe". Alligator is fainted. Bear gains 300 experince points.
Hate to generalise, but Americans are so bad at wildlife videos. Everything is just completely over-dramatised and ridiculously cheesy: "It's an ALL-AMERICAN standoff" ...stick to David Attenborough

Why does the crocodilian always lose? Croc vs. Great White, Alligator vs. Black Bear, it's almost annoying. These animals are descended from things that ate dinosaurs, and they're getting sliced open by mammals and sharks? How far they have fallen.
@Cassiepeia That's because on this episode, they were comparing the American alligator to the Nile crocodile. The experts reasoned that a black bear would win because although the alligator has a powerful bite force, it's not near as big or powerful as a saltwater crocodile is. I agree with this outcome.
I think it makes sense that the Nile croc would beat the lion, but the black bear would beat the alligator. Here's why. An American alligator is simply not near as big as a Nile or saltwater croc and its bite force isn't near as powerful. Adam Britton measured it in a salwater crocodile that was just over 15 feet and it landed 3900 lbs. This show says that it's 3000 lbs in the alligator, but there's a report of it being measured in a 12 foot 665 lb alligator and the result was 2125 lbs.
A huge Nile croc will be around 18 to 19 feet long and weigh 2500 lbs. The lion is only 500 lbs, 1/5 of the croc's weight. I don't think a lion could hold it back from going into the water. There's even some clips of this and it showed the croc getting away. The lion would not be able to get to the soft underside, nor could it hurt the croc on it's back. Crocodilians have body armor.
An American black bear will weigh 600 lbs and stand 6 feet tall. The alligator is only 14.5 feet long and about 1000 lbs. Here's something else. the bear is very strong, even stronger that the strongest humans, who can lift 550 lbs. They've been seen turning over boulders that weigh over 300 lbs and with only 1 forearm. I'd say a black bear is strong enough to hold an alligator back and to flip it over. Once that happens, game over. The bear would rip the 1/10 inch thick soft underside open.
wtf? this is so fake, this wouldn't happen in real life, an alligator will destroy a bear, no doubt. no bear has da strength to flip over an alligator and an alligator for sure wouldn't retreat in a fight

That sucked and some of the footage of the alligator was actually of crocodiles. Lame!
