I saw this movie, and what happened is Marjane got herself a boyfriend. Their relationship was great, until Marjane caught him cheating on her. Heartbroken, Marjane leaves the house she was staying at because the woman who owned it kept accusing Marjane of stealing her brooch, though she didn't. Then Marjane goes on about how her now ex-boyfriend, because of his infidelity, how truly ugly he is.

god damn i LOVE this movie/book. I'm a bit disappointed they left out the best scenes in the book in the movie. Still a great animated piece of art.
