  • Does the heat from the sun ever burn plants that use trellises for support?

  • @MrandMissConverted - No not because they are on a trellis. Anytime fruit is exposed to the direct sun it can get sunburn in the heat of a southern summer. However when there is adequate foliage (healthy plant so it is vigorous and not diseased foliage) the fruits are protected enough to prevent burn. I like the slanted cattle panel trellis because the fruit tends to hang down behind the foliage which grows up and out toward the sun.

  • Thanks

  • great ideas. I will be using some of these ideas in my square foot garden. Will love "putting my tomatoes behind bars!"
