1- I wish the Muslims would also appreciate traits like Democracy. As you can see, Muslim minorities flourish in western world, while other minorities are often restricted in a Muslim world.
2- Perhaps Hagiya-Sophia and temple mount ring a bell? And whatever happened to the Jews and Christians living in Arabia? Also, all the Islamic scientists came from cultures which were way more advanced and civilized before birth of Islam. (cultures like Egypt, Syria, Persia, Babylon, Phoenicia)

1- Ok, having an Islamic society means obedience in accordance to the Sharia laws, which means NO democracy. examples; Iran, Saudi and yeah, the Taleban
