Researching it a bit more, I am DEFINITELY going to blame the camcorder sound. Look under "Related Videos" over to the right of the screen, find "My Elise Running without the Exhaust" by Ganglandboss, or "mk2 with janspeed".

People just have no respect for the engine. Its a 1.8L Its not the exhaust. The small cylinder size is what makes the sound. Its obviously not going to have the rumble of a 5L.

that's the worst sounding Lotus I've ever heard. -also, IT'S NOT GOOD TO START THE CAR AND REV THE ENGINE. ...oil drains from all the necesary parts when the car sits. ...at least take the car for a drive and warm it up properly before you rev the engine w/ a load on the tires.
