Nice review, but the criticism on the Dual Shock 3 PS3 pad was kind of prejudice. The DS3-pad is much better than the previous PlayStation-series pads and it is absolutely fabulous for SFIV. I've been able to do all linked and chained combos, including FADC combos on the PS3 pad without any problems. It does take time to get used to but it is a very good pad for SFIV.
I loved Soul Calibur 2 as well, the way you could easily pull off moves and chain them together was great, along with the vast variety of attacks and characters!
its is physically impossible for your hand to move across the PS3 controller for all 6 buttons as fast as someone using one of these pads or an arcade stick. the PS3 control is good, and I certainly played a LOT of Street Fighter Alpha 3 with it, but its no comparison to these pads or an arcade stick. the ps3 dpad is good, but resting on those shoulder buttons will never get you to high level play.
Oh, on more thing. I was actually hoping for the old characters to get some re-designs. It's cool they kept the iconic character looks, but I was all for updating everyone and making them more kickass. Especially Sakura who is still in high school for some reason. I guess that's what the alternate costumes are for though. Some more of those would be nice.
i actually find the 360 pad is alright, maybe it's cause that's what i'm used to but i don't find the bumper buttons as a problem as heavy attacks and quite like the H+M+L all being on a trigger. makes ultra moves a lot easier
my only question about the 6 button pad though is are the buttons on the top the triggers or is it set exclusivly for control set 1 with RT and RB being the heavy moves?
RB and RT are face buttons, the shoulders are LB and LT. so LMH are on the shoulders still, but it does make playing other games with the controller kinda weird if they use the shoulder buttons.
A good review. My only complaint with the game really is the lack of Street Fighter III characters. That's my favorite Street Fighter game and I'm torn between it and Guilty Gear X2 as my favorite all time 2D fighter. The 360 controller does suck some ass but I too enjoy the fight pad. Had to get a Chun-Li one of course. Luckly my friend found it and told me about it at a Best Buy and thank god it wasn't gone by the time I got there.
great review

Great review. Everyone really played as Ken? Lol
I'm waiting for this to come out on the PC in June. I can't afford a next gen system. My PC is the only thing that comes close.
