even though i am a big fan of vicki, i have to agree with you that jane's version is better than her version. jane is a winner of a singing competition due to her great vocal. vicki is a great actress and jane is a great singer.

I like this verison over the other one because the voice is more soft and full of emotion. I like the other singer as well but I just LOVE Vicki Zhao more..overall these years her works are excellent and you can tell she is working hard..I love her personality too lol Sry..off topic

What's more, she seems to be short of breath. She relies heavily on breathy voice. That's why she has to be soft. What else can she do if she doesn't go soft anyway as she lacks power & quality in her voice?

Vicki's still good though because this song is meant to be like that. Yet I agree with you somewhat about what else she could do if she doesnt go soft because I know a very popular artist who got her fame through youtube but when i listened to her covers of famous songs she didn't sound so strong at all. She lacked some of the songs' high and low pitched but I do not know why the heck she's so popular and even made her own debut.

She's already famous, as one of the best movie stars, though. When one is famous, she tends to feel she can sell everything handsdown. That's HK style, or kinda tunnel vision typical of any tiny little territory, but it won't work in Mainland China where stars of different genres r too numerous for any specific star to sweep across genres. They'll have to be super professional in order to stand out in their specialized field of interest.
