  • just got this exact procedure done on my right knee last monday..now wearing leg cast. it hurts like a mofo.

  • @jokester859 Hey, curious how your knee feels now, I am about to have this done.

  • @TheChubznasty

rehabing now and honestly it hurts more than the injury and of course the surgery because you're knocked out lol. hurts first few days after surgery for me. just really depends. all i can really say is that the rehab is a long process and painful at times to gain range of motion back. just take your pain meds, take it SLOW so it can heal, and do exercises they allow you to do before rehab so you're not too stiff. good luck!!

  • @TheChubznasty

oh and remember that all surgeons are different in when they allow you to start rehab and other things after surgery. everyone heals&progresses at different speeds. Also reconstructions aren't done as often as the repair so you'll find more info on the repairs but aside from the procedure itself, everything afterwards is the same! Go to this website for more info and advice..kneeguru.com and type in patella tendon repair

  • i am 14 and i have a bid lump on my knee i think its jumpers knee how can i be shore

  • @5kerenza go to the docors

  • @SethShot *doctors

  • is this a real person

  • I got this from martial arts injuries. Kicked really hard expecting to hit the guy. Instead, he dodges, and I almost tear the tendon.

  • Wow!! ive just had my right knee done after the tendon ruptured playing rugby. I never want this to happen again. What an absolute pain in the bum not being able to bend your knee. Ive been training for 12months to go back to summer athletics but now im too scared to go back to training in the gym and plyometrics once the strength is back. I dont understand how it happened, this sux. I thought a broken ankle was bad but this is the worst injury

  • @pro2nz I hear you, i got severe achilles tendonitis earlier this yr and that sucked...in 2009 i tore several muscles in the back of my left leg and got 'piriformis syndrome' which is a chronic and nasty muscle injury...overcome both those, but since march i felt my knee patellar tear (not completely but significantly enough to stop me being active in any sports /training)...yeah its the most depressing one of the lot...i am f-ing pissed off!!!!!this can be a career ending injury!

  • @vincent4500 you need to rest it now, thats what i didnt do, i kept training - weights, plyometrics, speed work with a bungee, just pushed through the pain but thats stupid - i think about it now, the reason i had to train so hard and didnt get the benefits is because of the tendon tearing. I wasnt able to utitlise all the strength in my quads due to the pain, so what does an idiot do? he goes back to gym to try and make them stronger - end result - too much power for the already torn tendon.

  • @pro2nz I have stopped !! i did exactly what you did, physios are also STUPID..because they are like Mc Donalds, they 'assess' the injury and usually miss things like this and only encourage you to work it more and like a trojan...Ps now you've had surgery, which is likely what I'll need. you must support it with a good quality brace and taping, etc....take it one day at a time and listen to your docs

  • @pro2nz ps i had a partial tear, there is a hole under my knee cap where the patellar was thick and grisly before, however if i feel around i can feel a softened much weaker mass under the bone...still some left but docs tend to think black and white...if it'd ruptured totally i'd at least have needed surgery now i'm just struggling , got to tape it and support it every day and cant train deadlifts or other bending leg excercises

  • done both of mine at the same time on a trampoline 6 weeks ago. to do one is unlucky, but both!? anyway i am able to straight leg raise in my right leg already (a little) just have to remind myself to keep up with excercises.

  • @safcblogger I had both of mine done back in July and it's a long recovery process. Friday will be 11 weeks and they've unlocked my braces and I have about a 60 degree bend now. How are you doing? I missed a step and fell forward on both legs... it was crazy, hurt like hell. BUT PT hurts really bad when they have me lay on my stomach and they stretch my knee by pushing it as far as it will go.

  • @dtisme both braces came off last week, 120 degrees in both knees now, still very stiff and just starting on the circuit training in PT, its been a slog to get this far but everyday tasks are starting to come back. Keep the faith, and keep exercising as much as you can + a bit more. That anger you feel now, use it to exercise

  • and i thought about doing nothing but docs said it can even happen if you step weird and your quads instinctively yank to adjust your balance. they also said if its going to happen its going to happen. i had a great five years between injuries, much better than living in fear and getting couch butt.

. think i'd rather have this than all the acl crap people go through.

  • i ruptured right on five years ago...able to snowboard about 9 months later. ran a lot for next five years. just ruptured the left one 6 weeks ago...had surgery. they said for some reason if you rupture one you do have a greater chance to do the other one. however, my right knee is fine (knock on wood) and they said once fixed there is little chance it can happen again (though it can) so that is cool. and i blew the left one just running and jumping up over a gap between driveways.

  • I had my right patellar tendon repaired the end of 2007 and I would never consider playing sports again unless that was my job. By the time you're done limping around for 4 months+ and getting your ass kicked in physical therapy, you'll be so afraid of a re-rupture the only balls you'll ever play with again is your own. Sorry but that is the truth.

  • Just ruptured my Patella tendon.... I am having a nervous breakdown because i wouldnt be about to play sport anymore. Can some1 tell me how long does it take to heal 100 percent after surgery?

  • I think this is a dead persons knee....donated for educational puposes lol

  • @hupp42- I thinkit is a cadaver. The color of the skin isn't what it should be on a live person.

  • Yes it is just had it done to my knee. Not fun at all.

  • OUCH!! watching this video is making my knee hurt!

  • is this a fuckin real knee?

  • puke!
